I bet those who are complaining never played Xenosaga before considering how underrated it is. If you play ALL 3 games especially the last one, it WILL make you cry like you never cried before.
This song is everything a final boss theme should be. It has those small moments like 1:48 that are perfect if you catch em when you're selecting you attacks and those huge extravagant moments like 2:25 that go amazingly well with Zarathustra's big attacks.
Best of all, the whole feel of the song goes so well with the very name of the game. I almost get chills just listening to this song while thinking of that title.

The only thing that could be like a love story is that one of the sub-characters falls for the main character, and the love is for the most part, unrequited. That's all. The focus is on the huge epic biblical space drama, and it's worth your time.

Just one other note about the top 100 list. I think some of the songs have incorrect names.
For example, the FF7 battle theme is called "Fighting." I think you had it as something else. Moreover, you listed the awesome FF9 theme "Swords of Fury." I think the correct title is actually "Feel My Blade." I could be wrong. If I am, feel free to tell me though.
@themole90 Most JRPG album tracks are listed under multiple titles. Typically, there are names that are direct translations from Japanese and then the official English listings, which often have nothing to do with the Japanese title. I mostly used the titles directly translated from Japanese.
@gggaaaaaarrraaa i know that this is an old post and there is little use in debating it at this point, but like others have said, FF games have a HUGE listing of games out there with many different composers (and at least one world class composer). The Xeno games have four installments. Okami 1, and maybe a few more in the Tales games. All of those combined aren't even close to the amount of FF RPG's that are out there. That said, I agree that I'd like to see come other stuff in there too.
@TerroRambo It's also the way that the songs are used. Music can be terrific, but it's made even more powerful due to the scene it's used in. Hearing Aeris's theme isn't going to do as much for a random person as it would to somebody who has played FF7.
Why does Kajiura use the same made-up lyrics to all her songs with her made-up language? I've heard these same lyrics on "A Song of Storm and Fire" from Tsubasa Chronicle.
We love one winged angel because it fits the boss battle so well, other themes arent as good because they simply dont fit the enemy right, but there are better themes out there

What disappoints me about this countdown is that its basis is on games given good coverage in america. It doesn't even mention games that aren't mainstream, or were only released in Japan.
Don't get me wrong, these themes are great, but I don't think that the entire spectrum of battle themes were examined when the votes were tallied.

We love one winged angel because it fits the boss battle so well, other themes arent as good because they simply dont fit the enemy right, but there are better themes out there

@3andathumbdowm i loved ff7 more than MOST rpgs but one winged angel does not deserve to be in the #1 spot at all i would personally give it to suikoden 2 neclord battle maybe ff7 jenova ffviii boss theme or one of the lighthouse fights from goldensun 1 or 2

The list was ridiculously biased towards PS2 games. Such little love for games released before 2000 is really disappointing.
My opinion, yes, but I am sure there are many who agree with me on that.

I agree, Yu Yevon's theme is one of the very few bad themes of FFX. When I saw it as #2, I have to say, I thought "LOLWAT"

What disappoints me about this countdown is that its basis is on games given good coverage in america. It doesn't even mention games that aren't mainstream, or were only released in Japan.
Don't get me wrong, these themes are great, but I don't think that the entire spectrum of battle themes were examined when the votes were tallied.
