  • She is Great! Capitalism has given more to the individual than any other system in the world, Socialism has given the least to the individual. The free market is the solution, government is never an answer.

  • He said "free markets led to the punishment of Jews in Germany".... WRONG!

    Nazi Germany was socialist.

  • The free market is the exact opposite of slavery. In a free market people have the freedom to sell their labor.

  • Guzzardi and I characterize Pia thusly: "Another clever, playful, insightful and informative, substantive post from the Stylish and Very Smart. In a faux journalistic report, she compares/contrasts Ludwig Von Mises and John Maynard Keynes. This is Glenn Beck with a sophisticated style and fashion flair. From the Runways of Austria ... Mises Daily: 7/16/2009 by Pia Varma.

  • Under British rule, Hong Kong had no democracy. But it did have a fair, flat tax rate on salaries. Not corporate income.

Their saving grace, they didn't have the option of voting for favors from the government. Individuals nor Corporations. But the British citizens did. So by the end of British rule, the tiny colony's wealth per capita exceeded those of its colonizer. They are probably the most prosperous, peaceful and most free people on earth. The Brits got favors. And debt.

  • I assume the references to Milton Freidman's economics killing people has to do with Chile. The economic policies didn't kill people. Pinochet did. The economic policies made Chile prosperous. Communists didn't like that. Pinochet didn't like them.

  • @ThomasTalionis What kind of Crack do you smoke??? Thats total BS and you know it. Only 'Beckers' would belive what you say about Chile. FYI- Chile, Argentina, Russia, Poland, Sir Lanka, Bolivia and a Doz more have failed under the Free Market. To talk like that about Chile (Lie) shows that you are full of it. Are you paid to pump Bullshit on YT???

  • @rickbar123 I don't think Socialism worked out for Russia either.

  • @ThomasTalionis Is it a contest??? Or is Socialism a word the Asses on the right toss out to scare those that have not picked up a book since grade school ??

Retreat TT, you are no match. Go back to the radio, the CEOs want to bend you over some more.

  • @ThomasTalionis Freidman and Pinochet were best freinds.

  • @rickbar123 "I have nothing good to say about the political regime that Pinochet imposed. It was a terrible political regime." -Milton Freidman

  • @ThomasTalionis Its a shame he kept telling Pinochet to shock the people with more reforms. The more shocks, the more they starved and fought back. Of course, then Pinochet killed more. Retreat Sir, MFE is being refused all over the world.

  • @rickbar123 Hmm . . . interesting rationale. I wonder if Allende's reforms shocked people into becoming radicals. I can think of at least one person.

  • @ThomasTalionis People became radical after the army removed Allende with a shit load of CIA money and help. They killed the radicals as fast as they could.

Why do you defend MFE ? What does it do for the people ? The filthy rich get richer, the middle class gets smaller, the poor get smashed, prisons fill, crime increases, class war developes. If you are filthy rich, I understand.

  • @rickbar123 Allende gained the popular vote by stealing private companies and land and dividing it up amongst 'the people' in exchange for votes. He also drastically raised the wages of gov. workers compared to private workers using the gov's stolen money. Even labor unions went on strike to protest Allende replacing them with gov workers. Class Warfare and gov take-over radicalized people. After the coup, the only economists not loyal to Allende were educated in Chicago.

  • @ThomasTalionis You must have dug deep into the Right Wing trash can for that info. Site your source.

  • @ThomasTalionis "After the coup" Allende was dead. The Economist after the coup were all from Chicago and loyal to Pinochet. All other Economist were killed. That is a hallmark of Friedman Economics, kill those that do not agree. Under MFE you lose freedom unless you are rich.

  • @rickbar123 I've read lots of Friedman. Never read the part about killing.

  • @ThomasTalionis You never will. It does not work on its own, it does not work at the point of a gun. It must be held up to systems that have failed as well, then it gets held up with words like freedom and choice, apple pie. But it is still a dog. Read- The Shock Doctrine or The Money Kept Rolling In (Argentina)

  • @ThomasTalionis Chile just had an earth quake. The USA wanted to step in and help. We were told no thanks. All they would take from us were a few sat cell phones and some hospital equip. Any aid from America is tied to MFE deals. Chile has learned its lession. Bush was sent home from South America with nothing. He wanted to expand MFE, SA said NO THANKS.

  • @ThomasTalionis The people loved him. The only ones that hated him were the rich and American Companys stealing from the people (ITT). If it was not for the CIA he would never have been killed. If you think labor unions were out to harm Allende, you have hit the crack pipe again. Kick my comments upstairs, post what they tell ya.

  • @rickbar123 People loved him because they were given favors using other people's money. You keep blaming the CIA, what role did the KGB play?

  • @ThomasTalionis Chile was a democratic country. He won in a free election.

You tell me, what roll did the KGB play?????? It was not a RED state at any time.

  • @ThomasTalionis Look what MFE is doing to America. Wages are flat, we ship jobs to workers that make 20cents/hr, private contractors that get paid dbl what gov workers do, 30- 40 million with no health care, major income divide, no energy plan. Hell, this is a MFE wet dream. Why defend that??

  • @rickbar123 Why? Because I like ipods, Disneyworld and Freedom.

  • @rickbar123 The Alliance For Progress was pumping billions of US tax dollars into Chile's development. That stopped when Allende started looting American and other foreign companies. Allende's looting and protectionism also led to Chile being blacklisted from foreign credit. Believe it or not, some people in Chile didn't like the direction Allende was taking the country. Again, I can think of at least one.

  • @ThomasTalionis The AFP was a CIA backed (at the request of ITT and other American Companys) Right Wing front. It's goal was to undermine a freely elected President. Only the rich did not like the direction. Classic Right Wing BS TT. Reverse what happened and hope that those who never pick up a book will side with you.

  • @ThomasTalionis I will make it easy for you. Go get your library card and spend a few years reading about the world. Using a Right Wing fact sheet to argue on YT is a joke. Retreat Sir.

  • @rickbar123 WHO PAYS YOU TO DEFEND MFE?????

  • Pia is talking about Philosophy while her opponent, Rickbar, is talking about Partisanship. He represents a team. Pia represents ideas.

Rickbar attacks policies, then supports them under a different banner. This is all that is wrong with politics.

  • @ThomasTalionis Hold on now Brother. She is pushing Milton Freidman Economics. MFE has caused loss of freedom all over the world. Millions are dead thanks to MFE. It never works, anyplace. The Right Wing had total control over Siapan and Iraq. Both countrys are now fully screwed.

  • @rickbar123 Hong Kong.

  • @ThomasTalionis MFE works hand and hand with bad, small, weak Gov.

With Gov out of the way, the corporation takes over.

    Thats the real unholy union.

  • Comment removed

  • Hey look

Milton Freedman came back as a chick

  • GO HOME NEO/CON

  • @rickbar123 What's a "neo/con?"

  • @ThomasTalionis A right winger that wants a small Gov. Small, weak Gov can not protect the people from the greed of big corporations. They want little or no laws to govern the actions of the corporation. A NC thinks the corporation is the customer of Gov not the people. They think the corporation should get all the breaks, screw the public.

  • @rickbar123 You are describing Corporatism. Which Ron Paul recently accused Obama of being.

FDR's New Deal was the Corporate-State where the government would bundle corporations into cartels to control all facets; prices, supply, wages, etc. for the benefit of all. The Italian word for bundle is "fascio" as in "fascism." The result was a deeper economic spiral.

No one should be getting favors from the government. Wackiness ensues.

  • @rickbar123 Perhaps you are not familiar with Obama's bailout? Or his family's friend Tim Geithner using AIG as a front to funnel money to Goldman Sachs? And now using Goldman, which is essentially a wing of the Democratic Party, to strengthen the merger of Corporation and State.

But I guess he had to do that. For the people.

  • @ThomasTalionis I am no fan of Obama. His first move was to hire Rohm, the JO that pushed NAFTA under Clinton. Trust me, I am not blind to any of it.

  • @ThomasTalionis read - The Wrecking Crew and The Shock Doctrine

two books all Americans should read

  • @rickbar123 Talionis' recommended reading, Mobs, Messiahs and Markets. Nothing partisan about that one.

If you can make it through the 10,000 pages of Atlas Shrugged you will see that the enemy is Fascism AKA the Corporate-State AKA Corporatism and you to will call for the Separation of Business and State. For it is an unholy union.

  • @ThomasTalionis I just put the book into my kindle. The reviews looked too good to turn that one down. TX.

  • Too bad Reagan chose to expand federal government power instead. He established the roots of Constitutional collapse.

  • tell me you just didnt type that bullshit lie. you better check your facts brother.

  • It's not a bullshit lie sister. Reagan started the movement for federal takeover of family law that resulted in the legal destruction of the institution of marriage. Lawsuits were filed on Constitutional grounds, but the 9th Circuit Appellate Court (San Francisco, etc.) established the precedent that Congress has the power to legislate the Constitution out of existence so long as there's lots of money being spread around. That opened the flood gates and Constitutional rule collapsed.

  • dude just stop that wasnt Reagan that did that it was Jimmy Carter that done all that. Like I said get your fact stright and quit listening to the left wing media nd schools about subject such as this as they want to erase history.

  • LOL! OK - You're just going to lie. Wheeeee! Wasn't that fun.

  • I have now become disappointed with Pia Varma. She is a fan of Ron Paul, and just about any supporter of Ron Paul is an antisemite, just like he is. whether Pia Varma is an antisemite herself, or simply does not care that Ron Paul is an antisemite, it is very disheartening

  • Because disagreeing with the fact that our entire foreign policy should revolve around Israel makes you an antisemite?

  • even claiming that our entire foreign policy revolves around israel is blatantly antisemitic

  • Oh, my bad. Let me clarify in more detail and replace the word "entire." 425 character count so far... nvm.

  • so typical of shitler-loving antisemites, theevagabond has nothing good to say about the Jewish State of Israel, and nothing bad to say about the 57 islamofascist dictatorships

  • So... because I support someone who just thinks America shouldn't be involved with Israel... I am Hitler's buddy? You don't see the complete hypocrisy of your statements? The idiocy of simplifying one's arguement to rationalize them as some racist or against a broad scope of things from one simple viewpoint. You're the Hitler, fool.

  • theevagabond is a hypocritical, idiotic, racist, nazi fool

  • /facepalm

  • theevagabond is the shitler fool

  • Free markets aren't the problem. It's the lack of punitive retribution for the liars and thieves existing in (and most obviously at the head of) such an economic layout that is the problem. We now have bloated government in control of roughly 60% of the American auto industry, carefully contrived with precision, completely bought and paid for with play money printed by the private federal reserve system that you and I are now responsible for indefinitely. It's an American coup, nothing less.

  • smart and beautiful!!!!

  • She fucked up by buying into his trap and she bit the apple. NO, we have not evolved or changed. WE ARE STILL WE THE PEOPLE AND "WE" HAVE TO CHANGE TO OBEY THE CONSTITUTION, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. Wish I was their to help her...

  • Your the dumb bitch who doesnt realize or because you've had your head up your ass or in the sand for so long that you dont realize that our FREEDOMS have and are being taken from US. Wake up, idiot! If u don't, YOU are part of the problem.

  • lol dumb bitch doesn't know about my science

  • Pia Varma is beautiful, intelligent, sexy, educated, pretty, wise, charismatic, articulate, and...did I mention sexy?

  • This video should have 100 times the hits it has. You're right.

  • yes, although i feel disappointed and sad to admit that she has decided to ignore me. why is it that women like bad boys and have only contempt for nice men to lavish compliments on them?

  • This bitch is now promoting socialist bailouts and Marxist government "New Deal" stimulus plans.

  • that is 100% false. i heard her speak tonight. you are a liar

  • ...and how about you start showing a little respect for women, you pottymouthed little scum. You can start by eliminating that word from your Beavis & Butthead-level vocabulary. And yes, I concur with nakedBison69 that you are indeed a liar. Or are your ears as plugged as your rational faculty?

  • Hi Watchdog,

How are you doing? This is Angel. Glad to see you are still around.

    Peace and light to you.

    Angel

  • I would argue that immorality and a lack of ethics were the cause of slavery and the holocaust. To make the assumption that free markets are to blame for these or other world evils is inflammatory. But Pia kept her cool. Kudos!

  • on the contrary, it was excessive government control that caused things like slavery and the Holocaust

  • Interesting how the interviewer equates liberty and limited government with anarchism. He seems to have trouble unwrapping his liberal mind.

  • liberals have twisted minds...government is fascistic

  • There is hope and her name is Pia Varma

  • not as long as she supports antisemites such as Ron Paul

  • well said Pia. we need more people who have her grasp of history and economics.

  • bullshit
