  • The bimmers of old were so sick.

  • BMW e28 - the last REAL BMW. Ok... e30 maybe too.

  • i just liked this because derrick droved same model...

  • I can't believe that BMW knocked that Duesenberg... I think I just lost some respect for them.

  • Fuck new BMW's, because old ones were much better.

  • Man they really destroyed the look of these imports back then. Look at those ridicuous safety bumpers and side lights. The European equivalent models were so more appealing to the eye!

  • i feel like bmw is not goimg by this anymore

  • old beamers can never be beat..i got a 95 5 series thats a work of art...not plastic like the new ones

  • I would rather have the Duesenberg, or my W126, but I want that Duesenberg more!!!

  • Does it come with rich Corinthian leather?

  • and now bmw is the status quo car everyone looks at

  • That's my car that's my car!!!!! =D

  • @0652411 He's talking about the Merc, fool!

  • Haha a direct cut on Mercedes Benz....Except Mercedes had the last laugh because this 7 series was shit....the W126 S-Class was far better and had more engineering in performance, safety, and comfort than the 7-series could have ever hoped to have.

BMW said it themselves...their 7-series has no prestige....

  • @DamnStraightM35A2 And every since then their 7 series has run rings around the Merc :). BMW the 7er was pretty good, rust apart; I believe the engines in the US were crap wheezy things though, so that probably didn't help. With a manual gearbox and 218 proper bhp the 735i was a monster of a sports car compared to the stately Merc...

  • @DamnStraightM35A2 but then came the e38

  • @DamnStraightM35A2 In 1985 it could be argued that BMW was still establishing themselves as a prestige brand, as they mention themselves in the commercial. You are right, the W126 was far superior, you just have to look around today and you still see many on the roads and in good condition. The 7 series never held its value and still to this day, BMW suffers from the same problem. You buy a 7 series and you are pissing money down the drain... but what a way to waste money!

  • @monk3yboy69 BMW's have very high resale values in my neck of the woods (Canada).

But yeah, there was no comparison between this 7 series and the W126 Benz. The E32 seemed to be a huge improvement, but I still don't know if I would have bought one over a Benz.

The lame styling with a droopy back end on this series did not help.

  • @monk3yboy69

I don't about the exact situation in your market, but don't these top-of-the-line-models, like 7-series, Audi A8 and Mercs, all lose much in value after the first couple of years?

At least in Germany, the A8 loses most, then the 7, then S-class-models, I think. But a lot of money goes down the drain with all those cars.

  • @IsaakHunt You are right. If you buy any of these top line models, you loose a massive amount on depreciation in the first year and then again the second year. Best time to pick up one of the top models is year 3 from the 1st owner (with low miles if possible...but not a major issue). You then get tons of luxury and awesome motoring at an amazingly low price. I think A8 holds up really well now against the 7, but does not hold value better than S Class. A great way to waste money... LOL

  • the 1977-1986 BMW 735i was assembled in

    Dingolfing, Germany

    Lerma, Toluca, Mexico

  • 15 years ago. Almost exactly what I was thinking (16). The e38 7 series-the last truly beautiful BMW. Now that Bangle is gone, they're slowly repairing his damage. As long as they keep undoing it step-by-step, they'll be what they once were. It's a good thing they still perform like no other.

  • BMW's were so elegant until Chris Bangle came along!

  • @stevealexR1 So true......

  • "Under the hood, not on it."

    Catchy...

  • Awesome car

  • BMW's were so much better looking then. They lost their way about 15 years ago.

  • @thatmuse76,

well mate, ripping of 1972 Alfa Romeo Alfetta's design has taken its maximum of ass abuse and BMW sacked Paul Braque.

  • @skrompir Actually it was Paul Bracq not 'Braque'

  • @Joniel120

Don't like Frenches. Just their design. Sometimes.

  • @thatmuse76

Imho, the BMW 6-series back in the 80s was the last 'true' BMW, with its shark nose design.

  • @thatmuse76 Yes. I lost the love for BMW in the 2000s.

  • @thatmuse76 i lik the new 1s aswell as the older 1s but man is it jst me or do they seem 2 hav gotten chunkier since then lol
