Yeah there's a troubled area near Pakistan but in most of India you are perfectly safe. I've been there, ate and slept with the locals and they were rarely anything but polite and friendly. What's more there are Christians, Muslims and Hindus living there with barely any problems. Hell women backpack through there on their own every day.

Well, so far, all we really know is that the thing was set up by news of the world. The Dad was set-up but may have been willing to sell the child.
The first version of the story was that she was to be sold into a marriage, then that she was to have been sold into an adoption, then that she would not be sold at all.
Who is right? I'm not sure.

i live in the uk, and i can tell you that 'The News of The World' have had many troubles before for printing false and inaccurate stories. They have been sued numerous times and are regarded as a sleasy newspaper full of 'Kiss and Tells'. Whether the story is true i guess we will never know, but it wouldnt surprise me if it was.
