  • Where can I buy the mold for making the daisy center

  • @Pg0821 You can get it from Sunflower Sugar Art. They have an on-line store. The daisy center mold is Item # (SV-077)

  • I enjoyed your video very much, thank you!

  • COOOOOOL! I love seeing it transform as you use the vein tool. beautiful!

  • look at the size of that ring ;)

  • Thank you Glenda!! This will be next week's blog post on the SugarTeachers site! You rock!

  • can you use fondant instead of gum paste?

  • @rachelmakkar17 Fondant by itself is usually too soft to get thin enough, and would take too long to dry. If you add a bit of Tylose powder (CMC) to the fondant it will work just fine.

  • @glendagalvez thnx

  • Adorei a margarida prática e fácil de fazer parabéns

  • you would be so cool as my grandma

  • wow, what a great video. That daisy looks real. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.

  • Very nice : ) very clear instructions!!!

  • gvgkwfnm

  • Brilliant!!! THANKS!!!

  • r thse special rolling pins and mats for fondant/gumpaste. just wondering...lol my fondant AWAYS sticks to the side baord i use.....even with powdered sugar on it or shortening

  • @pist43 Try using a silicone mat and see if that helps. The one I am using is made by Wilton and is not very expensive. The roller is probably a form of acrylic. I am really not sure what it is made of. In this video I am using gum paste. If you have high humidity where you are working, sprinkle a little corn starch on the board, paste and roller. That usually helps with sticking. Hope this helps.

  • nice look but don't eat

  • damn pretty!:x

  • When she was putting the yellow gum paste in the center making thing it looked like an egg

  • i like this :)

  • do you use gum glue or water to attach the flowers to the fondant covered cake?

  • @MsToyol2 Either one will work on fondant, but you only need a small amount. Too much will make them slide out of place. I use buttercream to attach them to a buttercream cake.

  • Complimenti, tutto molto bello. Saluti dall'Italia

  • thank you the video, really well done. I am just learning & this video explains plain & simple. I just wish all the cutters are so hard to find, at least here in Winnipeg. Thanks again, very informative

  • i love this video, thanks for showing me. i am gonna try your way for a daisy..one question, How can i put my flowers on a wire?

  • @cellster74 Make your center in advance. Bend your wire in a "t" shape and embed the wire in the center before it dries. Allow it to dry completely then insert it through the center of the daisy and the sponge pad. Set it on top of a mug or anything that will not tip over until it dries.

  • lol a "fluffy brush"

  • lol at 4:14 :D

  • its nice.

  • nice! :)

  • Hi Glenda, fabulous video - thank u SO much!

    Love from Beth

  • Beautiful work.

  • very very good .)))))))))))))

  • Thank you for this !

  • this beautifulllllllllllllllll goog job

  • This was very informative and helpful. Very easy. Thank you!

  • Good job....not too much talking, clear, concise...kept an excellent pace for tutorial. Other posters should really take a tip from how you put this together.

    Good job..nice work,

  • that was a great tutorial. I am a cake decorator and just getting into "real" looking flowers as an option over real flowers....thank you for your demo. It was great.

  • thats so awesome

  • Beautiful, Love it!!!, Which brand of gumpaste do you use?

  • @vanearias06 Most of the time I just add Tylose (CMC) powder to commercial fondant.

  • It looks so real ^_^. Where can I buy these fondant cutters

  • @LovePinkBubbleGum They are made by a company called PME. You can go to the ICES website and click on "Convention Vendors" and it should lead you to the company directly or you might try a cake decorating supply store either on line or if you are lucky, in your local area. Many of the cake decorating supply stores carry their products.

  • Nice!

  • That daisy is really beautiful, but... what do you do with it after you eat the cake? you can eat the flower too? I think that kind of decorating is a little useless... sorry, but is true

  • @Hamani00Sakura Yes. You can eat the flower, too. It is sugar.

  • @Hamani00Sakura Lol if you can eat it, how is it useless?

  • @Hamani00Sakura i have a question for you where do you get your cakes from and why do you drive the car you do and why do you cut your hair?

  • @Hamani00Sakura Why do you wear clothes or underwear? I think that kind of thing is a little useless... sorry, but is true.

  • Thats so amazing! and you make it look so easy!

  • Beautiful! <3 Oh and may I know, where or how do I get the paste for making them and can I just use a brand new (washed)paint brush? xD And can you tell me what's the name of the music in the background please? (:

  • @vwwwvwwwvwww I used a commercial fondant (Fondyx) with Tylose (CMC Powder) mixed in. I used one pound of fondant and one tablespoon Tylose. You sprinkle the powder on a counter and knead the fondant on top of it until it is completely worked in. Wrap in plastic wrap and allow it to rest for about 6 hours. It is then ready to use. You can use any brush you like for adding the color. The music was something my daughter added as she was editing. She found it on the Internet.

  • that daisy is beautiful!!!

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • useless...

  • Thank-you baradragon 107;)

  • great video

  • What a fantastic video. Thank you so much for posting it. I've learned a lot and am now excited to try it on my own.

  • I believe gum paste is flower paste. Does anyone else think that Squires Kitchen paste is of a different quality now,the green and peach take ages to dry- if at all. Also the veiner used by this lady is not as good as the ceramic tool if a good vein is wanted. Hope this helps ditte 46. Watching this with no speakers so no idea what she is saying, sorry!!

  • I will;). By the way ... use gumpaste, right? What is the differents between That and flower paste???

  • thankyou for answering so quickly:O) it helps, the video is from the US::::: and now I know ask.com too:O)

I have a friend in the US, so perhaps she can get me the special cup... ;O) ... next week I will make my first daisy , I cannot wait;O)

  • @ditte46 Let me know how it turns out. Best wishes

  • could you also help with another question?? in all recipies from england they use one cup of .... how much is one cup? we work in grams, mililitre , is one cup 150 ml or just 100 ml ( 1 DL) hope you can help???! i have seen a video and when petra cox counts one cup she actyally takes 2 of the cups she is using ?? thanks!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • @ditte46 I did not know the answer to your question, so I went to "Ask .com" where you can ask such questions and most of the time get an answer. What I found was that US cups and the cups mentioned in England are apparently not the same. It seems there are 236 ml in a US cup. Maybe you can look at the information on "Ask.com" and find a better answer? Hope this helps.

  • @ditte46 1 cup=250ml

  • Enjoyed the video a lot!!! Ready great tips, thanks. Have one question, I really like the daisy cutter, where can i find one like that?????

  • @tita10580 It is made by a company called PME. You can probably buy it online. They make several different sizes. I used the medium one

  • I guess I could use a regular egg carton for forming the daisies. I think I'll try it. The foam one ou have will probably work better, but I will try.

  • This is by far the best video I have seen on how to make diasies. I am getting ready to make a daisy cake for a friend's 50th birthday party and was checking around for how to make daisies. Thanks Glenda for putting this out there.

  • thankyou! I need one;O) but I have no idea where to get it, here in Denmark;O)?

  • where can i get the spunk the daisy is resting on while it dries???

  • @ditte46 It is just a square cut from an egg crate sponge foam type mattress pad

  • very detailed:)

  • This is excellent. So well organised and great for a beginner like me. THank you so much!

  • Tthank you share with us. It was so good for me. I hope your can put more videos to teach gumpaste flowers.

  • Where can I purchase the mold?

  • @artistuch scroll down through the comments, questions and answers and you will find the information.

  • Nice video, Glenda.

  • thanks =D

  • I had some problems about understanding what she uses on the flower, that green color...wht is it? is it liquid or some kind of dust?? I am not english so I would be thankful if you helped me as much as you could.

Cumps. Looking forward to hearing from someone xD

  • @brunoent I used petal dust. If you look at a real daisy, you will see that it does indeed have green on it. Without it, you would have a lifeless looking sugar flower. You can also use a yellow-green, but use it sparingly.

  • @brunoent she called it dust :D

  • @brunoent it's also called luster dust. i think she called it moss green.

  • the green made it look ugly. Dont add colors that are not there just to say this is how it looks when it grows. Stupid.

  • You make beautiful daisies! They looked so real~!

  • I have also made these in yellow, and a brown center for a black eyed susan look, and I bought a few different sizes to have larger ones to look like a sunflower, obviosly not that large but the effect is the same. Glenda, you shoujd do some more videos you are wonderful, thank you!

  • @kadrisc1 Thanks for the kind words. What a great idea for making the black eyed susans. I will have to give that a try.

  • Perfect! Thank you so much!

  • what did u used to apply the yellow part?

  • @EFFEILTRUFOLO You can use a tiny amount of water, just enough to make it sticky, or a small amount of gum glue (Tylose or CMC mixed with water, or fondant mixed with water)

  • @glendagalvez thanks!

  • please post more videos!!!

  • absolutly fanomenal!

  • hi, I loved your easy video, I think even I could learn this. Where do I get alist of tools you used.I can't quite catch each tool

  • @MsCoolrose I'e bought a few cake decorating books and at the beginning they all have a full, comprehensive list of all the tools you would need for this and more!!!

  • Where do you order the center daisy mold from? I did enjoy the video.

  • @3poppyseeds Try Sunflower Sugar Art. You should be able to buy them online. I believe there is a link to their website on the ICES website.

  • Can you tell me where to get the plunger for the daisy's from?

  • @kadrisc1 The information is on an earlier post. Just scroll down.

  • Very very pretty and informative, thank you so much.

  • Looks so professional, yet only take about 5 minutes. I love this i might have a little try :) 5*

  • This is by far the most life like daisies I have seen yet. Beautiful job!

  • Lovely! Thank you for sharing your techniques. Very inspiring.

  • Great video. I've made daisies for cakes using this plunger and liked how they came out. Your video shows me how to make it more life like and in such an easy way!

  • Nice, thank you

  • pretty daisies

  • your daises are awesome

  • THIS is a great video. I feel like I could tackle this. That daisy is gorgeous. Thank you. I hope you do a lot more videos!

  • hi glenda...i like you video....easy for me to learn....step by step..easy to understand n very clear... thank you..

  • dear Glenda i like to know if gum paste is the same us a fondat, recently i started my cke decoration with the fondant and i think thats the same i dont know please please let me know because i really love daisies and i love to do this one, thank you!!! and God bless for your talent, thanks

  • If you sprinkle a tablespoon of tylose (CMC) powder on a counter top and knead one pound of fondant into it, you can make a very serviceable gum paste (some people call it flower paste). It is best to let it rest tightly wrapped in a plastic bag for several hours. Plain fondant is harder to work with because it is so soft, and it is harder to roll it very thin because it tends to tear. Hope this helps.

  • dear Glenda ,pardon my ignorance ,but i heard that went you serve the cake you have to take out the fondant, ,i never try before we do have to take it out??,and what that mind CMC, thank you again!! but i just started in this wonderful world of the decoration and i really love it.

  • where can i get the daisy mould?

  • It is made by a company called PME. You should be able to find a supplier on the ICES website. They are a well known company. Many cake decorating supply stores carry their products. Mine came in a set of three different sizes. I used the medium size.

  • I couldnt find such a large daisy cutter but I used a 8 petal cutter, and it looks quite pretty... I couldnt find gum glue either but used a little water on the back of the centre, it seems to be sticking... will that be ok in your opinion. Also, how do you stop the gum paste sticking in the mould for the centre of the daisy, i used corn flower...

  • As long as you use just enough water to dampen the sugar it will be fine. You can use corn flour or corn starch to keep the sugar from sticking. I use silk white luster dust because I like a bit of shine/sparkle to my petals

  • BRAVO! loved this video. The daisy looks fantastic!

  • Will you post more videos soon? :)

    BOP
