It's normal for bands to have played (and they still do) songs that are high energy faster live. That's the case here. Really good. When you hear the solo you can see that Randy hits every note and doesn't rely on whammy or other vibrato to fill in the spaces. He has a flurry of good picking going on. The only other guy who came close was Jake E Lee.

he does have good picking, but im pretty sure randy hits alot of those notes cuz of his excellent legato tecnique. jake e lee i think has a way better chance of being able to pick every note in a rhoads solo. i mean, im not saying randy couldnt, but i know he uses alot of hammer ons and pull offs.

Is it me though or does it seems like the song is played at a slightly higher pitch than normal? Maybe it's just the older technology recording.

This version sounds like it's played at about 1.25 times speed. That would account for the higher pitch. It's really awesome to transport back in time to see a legend like Rhoades play live.
