@20rsmexico - thats because German's pronounce W in the same way as they say V. So whilst it maybe spelt VolksWagen, it is pronounced 'Volksvagen' in it's native German. The English pronouncing 'wagen' is incorrect. The same reason people refer to Porsche as 'Porscher' is because the E at the end of a word in german is pronouced as 'ER'
Well the Chevette was just a redesigned version, of the Gemini, the C-Coupe, only as the city version, so ikt had very sporty potentials, you could throw whatever you want in it because of its RWD.
From a loud cih or dohc, to the V6 up to an V8, in a golf, you only had choices from a G-charged 4 banger, or a heavy thursty vr6 engine, and you only could go straight lines, so basicly, the "brilliant" golf, killed the beloved RWD. And thats not what you call a good thing, would you? ;)
i had a sunbeam ti back in the day and absolutley adored it. twin 40's big bore exhaust, roundabouts mmmmm.

Hi Buddy, Its my car. Shot at RAF Alconbury in 2002. remember the day well
Tiff Needell driving, BBC bought me a new set of tyres after they scrubbed out the new set that was on there in 25 Min's!!
They were also filming other cars for the series that day including:-
New Aston DB7, pre production Mitsi evo 6, pre production Scuby P1 , Skyline GTR, Testarossa and of course My HS.
Got some pics of all the cars lined up together somewhere.
Kind Regards
Pete
