@S1587915G What would it like for chinese People if WE translate some Stuff from English to Chinese ? They translated the Signs for us so we get an Idea of what they are saying. I'm gonna use that "Mess Transportation" Service rather than walking the long Way, without the Translation i would probably be lost.
I loved this. Took me back to my days in Korea. The English language newspaper had a daily column of such signs and translations. Many Korean subsribed to improve their English.
What do you want to say with this? do you feel privileged to know English better? What happens when people of other countries translates Chinese? Is this laughable or are you funny, cos this is not funny.
Yes, a drive-thru (here in Canada) is just a place where you drive up to the restaurant and order your food from a drive-up window, so you can pick up your food without actually having to go into the restaurant...
I noticed a while back that someone said China can't do anything right, not even english, and that was wrong of them to say. China has no obligation to write in english, we should be glad they even try! And it's very difficult to translate, so don't put them down for not getting it perfect!
At the same time, I don't appreciate being called a 'stupid english speaking person'. Just because one english speaking person is rude, doesn't mean we all are
Whatever is worth doing is worth doing PROPERLY. If you don't want to do something PROPERLY (such as do a proper translation), don't bother to do it at all in the first place. Let everyone who comes read the signs in Chinese.
Chinglish is baby English. Because it less care about grammers than most English speakers who ponder their souls heavily on. Chinese is a language not carefully recognised by its own mother-in-law, I mean, the Bible.
You should be glad they even think about putting english. This is China afterall not United Kingdom or USA. Just like in your repective countries you guys have no clue how to read or write Chinese.
@duuluvjungqork the original Chinese characters is the traditional one that currently using in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau....the simplified one is generated by the Communist party of China

I shudder to think of how the Chinese are going to translate their literary classics into English.

A drive-thru is basically yes, an entrance for cars to restaurants so they can get food from a window so they don't have to leave their cars.
