Raised in Blenheim in the 1960's I regularly visited this area and as a small boy a visit to Christchurch and the Museum was never complete without a visit to the remains of this ancient settler of the Wairau Bar. Now in my 50's I like to think that in my own way I was paying my respects. Now we are a more PC society and have learnt from the past I'm pleased that he has finally been returned to the place he belongs and is at rest.
