In the Bible, it CLEARLY STATES (which Jay Bakker has consistently ignored) that homosexuality is an "abomination." How difficult is that to understand? Let me be even clearer; the Bible never contradicts itself. With actual study of the context and following simple hermeneutics you will find this to be true. I am a graduate from Bible college and study the Bible, well religiously. I'm sorry, but Google can't compare with actually reading Scripture. Those sites are written by people who hate God. Scripture has much to say of the judgment being stored against all who are not saved, including priests. In addition to them teaching false doctrine.
I have also studied the bible religiously, independently, and from the perspective of those who do not believe the bible to be the word of God. I understand why you belive what you believe, I simply disagree with you. There is much contradiction in the bible, and those who right about these things are not always God haters. Many Christians friends on mine can reckognize the fallacy within the scripture. You would see it as well, if you were more objective as less subjective.
Give me a couple examples ... If there was one valid contradiction, the Bible wouldn't be worth believing in. If Scripture said one thing and then the other; we shouldn't base our faith on it. But it is perfect and flawless, it is psalm 19:7-11.

Having faith, is God opening your eyes to see that you cannot obtain salav. through works, but only through faith in Christ can you obtain eternal life. It's true that people could proclaim they have a message from God when they don't. Here's the diff. True prophets of God say what's going to happen and it happens. Also Jesus proved who He was with miracles. Divine power is something that false prophets don't have because they are not of God. Joseph Smith was not a prophet of God because he prophesied things that didn't happen ... A mark of a false prophet. The Bible is verified by it's correctness and its historicity. Mormonism is false.
Christ fulfilled hundreds of prophesies about Him to the 't' and did thousands of miracles so that people might believe who He is. Also, God authored the Bible, the words that the men physically wrote are God's words. They wrote them under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. So I'm not right just because a book says so, it's because God says so. And He has proven Himself time and time again and that His scripture is truth.

God has never made a mistake thus he couldn't make a mistake in Scripture. I think it's somewhere around 250 prophecies that Jesus flawlessly fulfilled by His birth and ministry and death on earth. And for one example of a phrophecy that He claimed ... He said he was going to be betrayed and killed and rise in three days. Which He did.

This verse tells us that prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. This verse helps us to understand that although men wrote the Scriptures, the words they wrote were the very words of God. Even though God used men with their distinctive personalities and writing styles, God divinely inspired the very words they wrote.
Jesus Himself confirmed the verbal plenary inspiration of the Scriptures when He said, "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished" (Matt 5:17-18).
In these verses, Jesus is reinforcing the accuracy of the Scriptures down to the smallest detail and the slightest punctuation mark - because it is the very word of God.

What I'm trying to say is that the Bible is the only book ever written that is backed up by God's power.His omniscience in knowing everything including the future.His Omnipotence in all of creation and in miracles!Thousands of people witnessing Jesus heal people instantly, turn water into wine, predict what is going to happen in the future then occurring.Walking on water, casting out demons, fulfilling prophecy written hundreds of years earlier. etc, etc!That is from God! Mere man can't do that!
Also, the Jews wanted a political physical war hero as they were under Roman rule. They didn't want a Spiritual Messiah they thought they were good on their own righteousness. Christ will come back as king, but that's His second coming. But there are many Jews who have accepted Jesus as their Savior. Then I wouldn't just let someone I love live a life that God is not pleased with and that is sending them to hell; You would warn your child when he/she is about to walk a cliff wouldn't you? She was a pioneer of sorts.... A one of a kind lady for sure. My mom actually gave donations to the ptl club and I would watch it with her sometimes when I was a kid and yes there's maybe a lot to poke fun at but at the end of it all Tammy was a true example of God's love...she wouldn't let herself be the butt of a joke she'd just love right back until you had to love her too. It was so hard to see her getting sick.

In the Bible, it CLEARLY STATES (which Jay Bakker has consistently ignored) that homosexuality is an "abomination." How difficult is that to understand? In other words, it's a pro-creation of what God intended. It's a sin & can be "reversed," per se, because any bad spirit such as homosexuality (& yes, it's a bad spirit) CAN be changed. There have been many gay couples that eventually had that spirit lifted & went on to marry the opposite sex.

Also, God authored the Bible, the words that the men physically wrote are God's words. They wrote them under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Then I wouldn't just let someone I love live a life that God is not pleased with and that is sending them to hell; You would warn your child when he/she is about to walk a cliff wouldn't you? You would probably be doing it rather earnestly. I have to give kudos to Jay, too. He seems like a really nice young man. Tammy did a good job raising him. I read an article about him in the New Yorker several months ago. It was laudatory. 'Said he was tatoo'd and pierced, and preaching in a bar in New York--but not preaching down people's throats. How's their daughter doing? I used to love it when she sang on their show. She had a beautiful voice.

I believe that the Bible tells about Gods plan for salvation through Jesus and his work on the cross. But the religions that man has created has torn the Body of Christ limb from limb. Just like a partial birth abortion.
Dividing believers through "religion" is the Devil's ace trump, but the Holy scriptures are his enemy.

How can anybody believe in anything?There are too many stories out there of what people believe. Some say when you die, there is a new life in heaven. Some day when you die, you see your in a dark place where you see your past go by you. Some say when you die, you are reboern right away. Who knows what really happens. Who cares until it actually happens

Tammy Faye is now in hell. She is an adulteress (divorced Jim and married Roe that is adultery) and a fag enabler. Now the Lord her God is tormenting Tammy with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. She failed the Lord her God and failed to keep his commandments. It's too late to pray for her. She did not repent of her adulteries, and she proudly went on Larry King with her partner in sin. God executed his vengeance upon Tammy shortly thereafter.

tolatetopray. You are stupid! How do you know if she repented for her adulteries. Yes, in the bible it did say that divorcing your husband or wife and being with another that was adultery. But there are adulter's in heaven...if you repent for your sin, all is well. So don't go acting like you know everything about everybody. Read the bible and study it. Don't take it out of context!
