  • ohh !Albert Hofmann...how i used to love thee....

  • Nice haircut, taken from a flock of seagulls

  • The CD is soooo much better.I listen to it to go to sleep. Love this CD but not the live version.

  • That sax guy is muppet by day.

  • one word - amazing

  • I like the album version...really that is other thing....as in heaven

  • omg. that sax-player sucks so much live x)

sounds much better on the cd x)

  • Awesome instrumental. I remember listening to this song on those endless nights working as an armed guard............they dont make music like this anymore!

  • RIP Syd, Rick :(

  • @dyrbov not rick, richard

  • хм... кому-то не понравилось?...

  • It was great... You were in the moment and KNEW it would never get any better than this, then the 90's came along and sadly upheld the truth that your heart already knew. Crank this song loud from your car stereo and wink at the sad soul next to you in traffic bobbing up and down to the latest pop trash on the radio and say "You should sue your parents".

  • @MrRoberttweaver LOL made my night =). I play this sort of stuff in my car all the time, when I'm sittin there I blast Zep, sabbath, floyd, and all the greats. People give me looks like I just killed someone, and what do I do? Smile, wave, turn it up even more to drown out their shitty music.

  • I curse my young age making it impossible for me to have seen this tour and many tours of other classic bands such as Floyd.

To be flipping out on acid and weed and to be at this concert would have been the most amazing experience!

  • Get a load of what that sax player is wearing! This is Pink Floyd, right? : D

  • Oh, and the hair, too - how can you miss that?

I am sorry, I am from Poland, well, I don't......., my English is poor.

  • 4:22 - If my girlfriend could suck like that guy blows, I'd be in heaven...

  • @morval99 LMAO

  • @morval99 grow up

  • @kjmg65 get yourself a sense of humour, don't take life so seriously kid.

  • @morval99 I know, right?! lol

  • @morval99 If my gf looked like rachel fury id never get out of bed.

  • @7byseven yes! all of them are babes for sure. Which one is R.F. ? Although I bought the VHS of this way back when, I only ever knew who Durga McBroom was, (of 'Blue Pearl' fame).

  • @morval99 She on the right at 4:00

  • @7byseven OK ta. She retired from performing at the end of this tour in 1989.

  • i love this;;; it makes me think about the deep... ocean of my soul and how it has emerged from early in this life to now... i mean; why should i trade my impatience for self-sacrifice ? ... no no... i'll remain an impatient person becos it keeps me "safe" from the pple and places i deserve freedom from ... now where'd i leave my rocket ?... oh; here it is (RECOVERY - EMINEM)

  • its so bad how there always seems to be 2 blind people who accidently hit the dislike button on excellent videos

  • I was in that concert, I liked Terminal Frost athmonsphere and those waving lasers, like 6:13 :)

  • Scott Page had the worst hair style ever!

  • I never get tired of watching David or listening to him play guitar. Check out my Ode to a T-shirt. It's all about Mr. Gilmour, my paramour!!!!

  • That music means a lot to me. It makes me wanna cry every time i hear it.

  • How amazing is this. Terminal Frost is reminiscent of David's "Mihalis" on his first solo album - reworked. Magical. Beautiful.

  • excelente.

  • Go to 3: 40...don't you think there's a little mistake by Richard Wright? ( in my opinion he anticipates the drums...) what do you think? :)

  • @xyzValexab someone was listening hard ;)

  • man thats sucks that they omiited this song from delicate sound of thunder cd and dvd but good version

  • @Mr1PinkFloydFan True. They performed it on most of the tour, too. In fact, if you grab a random boot from the AMLOR tour, it's likely to contain every song from the album (but not in order--"One Slip" was typically played as an encore).

  • do you ever get tired ?

of waiting for it to end.

    Dont worry

    nobody lives forever

    nobody lives forevr

    ...yet

  • which pedals are included in the mic?

  • @thedeadliest Theres no pedals on the mic. Davids voice (in real-time) is being ran through a vocoder, also with a rising synth note in the background. Creating that awesome creepy harmony sound :D.

    ...thanks wiki

  • I LOVE TERMINAL FROST!!! THIS SONG IS AWESOME. THAT PART THAT GOES TO Dm THEN A# AND C IS AWESOME!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I know!!! :D That part just makes me freeze!

  • Can't fault Roland for their vocoders!

  • Tonight ! 11/04/1987 Pink Floyd on tour @ the Omni, Atlanta, Ga. ADM : $20.00.

Sat side stage upper, looking down at the stage, too close to see the lights and screen, remember the band filming, and that striped shirt of Davids. Friend of mine did a four way hit , ate all my valium, ended up being a wild man in the St, of Atlanta after the show , he met Nick called him David , what a choke.

    how I miss those days.......

  • @NPR150, I was at that show! Amazing stuff. Those were the days as far a concerts go. Boston, U2, Rush, ZZ Top, Metallica.... this was fantastic. Missed Def Leppard, regret it. Heard that was a nice show as well.

  • real good lyrics...

  • why did somone give me thumbs down just cause i said david has a great voice ?

  • I dont know but I think it's a dumb who give thumb down to evryone.....just like monkeys.

  • fuck off chimpanisesy yh i cant spell

  • sorry for my langue

  • Some excrutiating moments of out-of-tune sax playing, but overally chilling

  • ya where'd they find this guy?

  • actually to be fair he's really good the alto but he probably just hasn't ajusted well to soprano, it was only really the low D's and F#'s that were really bad

  • Davids .....voice ah its sound like an angel

  • Celestial!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was at this show-still have the ticket stub!

  • REALLY? Where? WHEN? How old are you?

  • So Good man!

    Great anticommercial songs

  • All I can say is - Hartford, CT 10/87 , one hit and tripping nicely....unf...n believable show, but still not Waters Floyd!!!!

  • Oh yeah thanks for posting its a great tune.

  • @agentgooner007 you're welcome.

  • cont... raise awareness (I don't know him) but cannot just stand by and watch someone who is facing life imprisonment for trying to get real justice. I did not come here to do that as I like Pink Floyd (went to see them in Rotterdam and London during Pulse) and like how djtrixen pointed out I heard a line and it made me think of the book. With kind thoughts and forgiveness thank you.

  • For all those with more than one brain cell and the ability to read more than one page (if that) then you will see it is NOT a religious in fact it is the OPPOSITE to one. I'm in no way connected to the book (it's free anyway) and wanted to pass on the wisdom it gave me (just sharing with good intensions). Also the author is being extradited to Britain for making the Truth video 7/7 Ripple Effect for sending DVD to the judge and foreman of the jury to avoid miscarriage of justice and wanted to..

  • 20+ years and this song is still as good as the day it came out. Thats why I love floyd...

  • agentgooner007, this is a SPAM message. Rather than removing your comment, I'll share with everyone what your little search brings up on Google. It's a link to some lame religious book that has NOTHING TO DO WITH PINK FLOYD!! Hopefully, others who view this video will also leave you a note letting you know how they feel about SPAM.

  • and no, using a line from the song to advertise a book doesn't count as a Pink Floyd-related comment. Nice try.

  • Thank you.

  • the best song ever

  • Nice...saw Floyd on 10/14/87 Hartford, CT and 10/17/87 Providence, RI; brings back great memories...

  • you are a Lucky man...

  • cuts through me like a knife. i love it.

  • Great great great

  • mmm sounds like satriani stole a couple bars here n there, sound familiar to neone?

  • Best Floyd instrumental ever

  • one of the best instrumentals period

  • You are the being behind all you see ,you ARE life not a body in life ....

  • 134being: wtf?!

  • I think there for i am

  • I know what you mean. Peace bro.

  • Awesome! Pink Floyd forever!!!

  • i wish i were stoned

  • u&me both

  • what does that mean? This piece of music is awesome.

  • I was stoned earlier... wore off :-\

  • just the hits

  • huh?? Not sure what you mean... This isn't exactly a "hit." Still, it's one of my favorite tracks (not to mention rare in its live form) so I thought it would go over nicely here.. :)

  • I feel the chills right through my spine

  • Oh fuck this a new machine is so awesome when you are stoned

  • Schwiediesweety: Totally. Try it on shrooms. Really ;)

  • Highly recommend adding &fmt=18 to the end of the URL, as I found the picture gets wider and seems to look a bit better, also I think the sound is better too. Very good video, thanks for uploading it for us.

  • the momentary album is way better live!!! especially sorrow...thats probably the best track

  • Most synthesiser music is better live, somehow it breaths better.

  • Terminal Frost is just one of those beautiful songs that you never hear.

  • What I can't figure out is why they chose to leave this off of Delicate Sound of Thunder (the album). I understand why they had to leave it out of the video--they didn't play it that night... ok. Still why not include it on the double-live album? They had a great, high-quality recording of a terrific performance of it and plenty of space on the CD version (not on the LP, but plenty on the CD). To this day, no official live version of this has been released. Anyone know why? o_O

  • this doesnt look that live

  • Actually, these tracks were performed during that entire run of shows. I'm assuming the band just didn't feel that they "worked" on the live album, thus their exclusion.

As for why this isn't on the video (which is a heavily-edited, slo-mo hackfest), I'm guessing there was some kind of time restriction being observed and the record company (?) wanted to stick with known hits over newer, lesser-known album tracks.

  • This is not a commercial songs..

  • Very good song!Very Floyd, very eighties...remind me some Blade Runner scene!

  • Agreed, this would've made fit perfectly in Blade Runner!

  • Err, fit* perfectly.

  • Pure genius. Pure Pink Floyd!

  • Damn! Saxophone is a so nice instrument!

I'd love to buy a ticket to this show ! :)

  • masterful.......

  • How about A new machine? This is my favorite song on this album.

  • Sounds like Kenny G is playing the Saxophone

  • No, he's called Scott Page

  • There you go! Helliwell simply rules!

  • is it helliwel of supertramp the one I know had glasses & was already aging

  • that saxaphone player is a crazy fuck. haha

  • Wow, we lost Rick today. Just when I was listening to this video too.

  • :'( I didn't even know he was sick. It came as such a shock to me... My best friend told me about it via text message while I was at work, and I literally choked up while on the phone with a claimant (I'm a claims adjuster, so this was DEFINITELY not good).

Did anyone outside of his close circle of friends know he had cancer? It seems like just yesterday when I saw him and David Gilmour in Chicago. Rick (and Pink Floyd) will be sorely missed. I feel like I've lost a dear friend.

  • i feel like i have lost something which i cant replace and will mourn as long as i live

  • epic

  • i love you all.

  • Sax suffers without Helliwell

  • is this the "Would you Buy a Ticket to this show" version?

  • wowser77: yes it is. :)

  • I love Terminal Frost!!!

  • How's that vocoder being activated?

  • Electro-harmonix's got that pedal! ;) Mic-pedal-mixer. That's it! :)

  • Aye cos you can't see him playing/speaking through a synth and it looks as though he's playing guitar whilst vocoding.

  • This is a Roland SVC-350 Vocoder!!!!

  • superb

  • man i love that sax solo!

  • Greatest show I've ever seen! And I've seen the best!

  • ePhilosopher: wtf? I'd delete your note, but I get too much of a kick out of it. Let me ask... what kind of psychedelic substance were you on when you wrote that? Give me some dammit! lol ;D

  • This version is beautiful!

  • i love the music, but damn the saxophonist has an ugly mullet

  • head a care caught hoffenpheppher, there goes bunny

  • Never heard "A New Machine" live version before. THANKS!

  • Where can I find this whole show please please!!

  • See POTWProductions' post.

  • I love this video.David's voice is a little different now...

  • Saw this song in Madison, WI, 5/20/1998. It seemed like they had those laser "waves" on for an eternity. Definitely a Top 5 concert experience (was Top 1 until the 1994 tour...)

  • Don't you mean 1988??

  • 1988 it is. Dang, just when I thought I'd learn to type...

  • Ok, ok, I meant to say "learned to type", not "learn to type".

    This is getting embarrassing...

  • This song (plus the intro and outro) were what got me into Pink Floyd. I LOVE that saxophone.

  • ANyone know where i can Download a live version of this song?

  • See POTWProductions' post ;)

  • Nothing there. Just a video Sings of life.

  • the drums are waaay too loud. I hate the eighties

  • hey we're all entitled to our opinions, brother. it's kids like you who make me feel old! ;) lol and i thought i was still a young'n. haha

  • lol sorry about that. Its just that the seventies sound is just so amazing. I think there was just an idea that more is better, which isn't true.

  • However, its still a great instrumental.

  • this is 'a new machine (pt 1)' + terminal frost. there's only so much room for instrumentals live, they already have shine on pt 1 they always do - and usually one on each new album that they play. so you will probably never hear them play this live again. this song is genius tho =

  • Actually, this is both parts of "A New Machine" with "Terminal Frost" in the middle. TF is one of my favorite Floyd instrumentals.

  • It took a while to Guy Pratt to understand it takes a Precision Bass (and only picked) to play Pink Floyd... lol

Anyway, I saw this live in Rome 1988 and it was wonderful

  • Album version is the best. One of pink floyds best and underrated songs!

  • They(who are they now?) do not think this is a great song so they do not play it anymore.

It is relaxing and part of their spirit.

I enjoy it from time to time.

  • tnk for comment.. im from argentina.. so i dont speek so well english..

    this video is.. WOWW! greatt!!

  • oooooohhhhhhh...wow...no comments...I'm in shock

  • Taken from the HHO DVD Would You Buy A Ticket to this Show?. Featured at Yeeshkul dot com.

  • Of course! Where did u think I got this? :) The funniest comment I saw about this video @ Yeeshkul is where someone said this showsucked cuz Dave had on a striped shirt (who cares??!)!!! I was like... Dude, It's Pink Floyd for crying out loud. David Gilmour could be wearing a Mickey Mouse shirt for all I care--as long as the music rocks, I'm happy! :)...

by the way, I doubt anyone who attended this concert noticed (or cared) what kind of shirt Dave was wearing.

  • I was at this concert and I did not give a crap what Dave was wearing. I still have the ticket stub. Great show.

  • btw, potwproductions: somebody gave you a thumbs down, but i fixed it! yeeshkul's an awesome forum and i highly recommend that anyone who wants this whole show (or any other high quality floyd dvd) go there to get it. thanks for the post! :)

  • How do I get ahold of the DVD for this show??

  • THX

  • es incomprensible que este temazo no haya sido incluido en delicate sound of thunder
