  • Robert Ray is the composer. The choir had fun with this piece, and they didn't take every repeat which was great. Tempo was good and they did the hand off from section to section very well: Soprano: "He filled the hungry"...next alto then tenor then bass. Hard to keep it together when enthusiastic audience claps after solos & the choir still has vocal lines to keep singing. Exuberant girl became nervous as camera was right there. Everyone responds differently. Keep up the good work.

  • the most important thing is THEY ARE PRASING GOD!

BUT SHE DEFINITELY NEEDS TO STAY STILL AND CONCETRATE IN WHAT SHE IS SINGING ABOUT!

    **keep focused lady!!

but they are not professionals so we can't say anything but only appreciate it

    God bless u all

  • I know it was 2 years ago, but do you know the composer?

  • By the way: Gospel means God Spell and not discipline and perfection. It's not about announcing this message meeting every note right but feeling the joy that it means!

  • I mean Good, of course

  • Our choir is also rehearsing this song for quite a time now. I know how much work there is behind such a presentation and as long as thy're not professionals it should not be required of them to be perfect but to have fun in what they're doing! I think, you can tell this by looing at their faces - and after all - they're young people, let them move a bit too much around on stage if that's what the music does to them - sometimes I can't stand still either :)

  • fuck off

  • They're not that bad they just need to fix those tonal issues and get into it I mean heck it's Gospel SONG!!! They do all that stuff and smile but they're voices don't sound like they're that into it.

  • okay, my skool choir sung this & we killed it. I wish I could find the video 2 upload it but wtf was this shit. I mean....that solo...for he hath regarded..first off.....never mind. i dont have enough characters to actually type all that's wrong with this total performance. I know u said u posted this as a way 4 ur friends to c it & have memories...that's what facebook is 4 u did ur friends a total disservice by postin this. Ya'll choir don't even cover ya'll sound...ugh...this ruined my day

  • hahaha, that girls solo would've gotten her torn a new ass by Simon on American Idol. ...scratch that, ALL OF THOSE SOLOS would've been bashed so bad by Simon they would've gone home crying. there's nerves: then there's lack of talent. but u had fun! hahahaha

  • hahahaha you guys suck hahahahaha

  • Okay, so the singing wasn't great, but it wasn't completely awful. HOWEVER, the girl on the end of the front row (closest to the camera) really needs to lose the attitude she has going on. I mean really, could her head swell any bigger? If she were in my choir, I would have had a field day with her. Otherwise, an ok performance.

  • the girl in the front neeeeds discipline she was all over the place but its not like her solo was the greatest

  • wow, our choir did this much better, and with more discipline

  • I think what pissed me off more than the mediocre singing and the choir speeding up the tempo and seeming to have no idea what rhythm is the fact that that girl right in front could not keep still!

She was staring at the camera playing it up... and when it came time for her solo, she was singing the wrong notes, and doing all these runs.. and it was HORRIBLE! Plus that attitude she has completely comes through on camera. And what's with the audience clapping after every solo?!

  • ok, while i appreciate the interest in this video, i really just posted this for people at my school.

i realize that this choir isn't the best, but we had a lot of fun singing this song.

i didn't upload this for it to be critiqued, it was just a way to share some memories.

so if you're going to comment, please keep that in mind. thank you.

  • i agree... i remember singing this in all city choir back in the day... it's completely off... tempo, texture, the feel of it is off...

  • ok i take back what i said... this is sad!!!

  • OK. The girl in the front makes me want to wring her neck, the way your parents used to threaten kids to keep them still. She acts like she's 5. STOP FIGITING! And after all that she had the NERVE to walk away like she just got finished clowning somebody on the street corner in the hood. She sung this like it was a Mary J Blidge concert. That ain't your choir boo. Man that's funny. I pray that's high school stuff. Other than that, I guess it sounds OK.

  • Guess it sounds ok? guess somebody never took choir, do you know how much work goes into preparing a piece like that? and 'that girl' was a little nervous, since not everyone has the confidence to sing out on their first solo, so give her a break.

  • Give her a break....NO! I've sung in choirs for multiple years and never saw someone act like that. She wasn't nervous, she was immature. She could sing, I'll give her that, but she lacks professionalism. The rest of the choir seems to have that down and that behavior should have been checked at the door. But if you felt that behavior was due to "nerves", I can respect your opinion. I just don't agree with it.

  • ...... wow, I'm speechless.....

  • that girl in the front is crackin me up

  • WOW. LMAO

  • i love this song...i sang it on the philly all city choir and was a soloist!!! bring back soo many memories

  • hey, i sang this with the philly all city choir too! lol

  • Allie gave me chills.

  • you can see everyone but me! :*(
