  • wow this is excellent! I too am working through Richard Williams' book, but I'm not confident enough to attempt anything like this... You done any life drawing? Your form looks superb

  • @kevthedrummer i have not done much life drawing, however, i do draw a lot of realistic human portraits as well as the cartoony stuff

  • Very nicely done!

  • thanks very much

  • @littlefilmsJN @littlefilmsJN No problem-o!

I'm in the middle of a 2d animation class, myself. I find myself going cross-eyed trying to match everything up with my walk cycle, not to mention seeing green after staring at a light box for hours. ;)

I think i'll snag a copy of this Richard Williams book, too. I need all the help I can get lol

  • VERY cool. Also yours is much cleaner than mine. Do you use a light table for ur pencil tests? I think I'll start doing mine on paper, cause i cant draw as well on the computer. The one thing I would say is to try and get the feet to flow more smoothly. That was one thing that drove me crazy, the left leg would zoom back and shrink in the middle, and I couldnt get the foot to flatten nicely. eventually i just changed the timing on the leg and made it "pop". got Williams's book btw its perfect!

  • thanks, yeah i know what you mean about the feet. I do use a lightbox and paper, but that's only because i feel more comfortable that way. So you got the Richard Williams book then, has it been a good help???

P.S.... did you know that Eric Goldberg worked for and with Richard Williams at Williams' studio in London. You'll find some of there collaborative work on GOOGLE video's if you type in richard williams commercial reel.

  • Okay that's good to know. I was thinkin

  • @littlefilmsJN there's a podcast out featuring Eric Goldberg himself, he talks about working with Richard. Worth a listen if you've not heard it! There's 2 parts: animationpodcast com /eric-goldberg-part-one/

  • @kevthedrummer no i have not listened to this.........i'm going to listen to it now, thakyou very much
