does anyone know the chords he is using, i would love know how to play, this song, it is one of my favorite songs by phantom planet together with, Demon Daughters
Oh my Gosh, this is way too amazing for my little person tonight, haha. I really love Jeff's drumming in this, and the siren add a bit of atmosphere, haha. Great video, again !
BHAR is good, but I'd say go for one of their earlier albums. As a whole, I'd say Absolution is their best album, but Origin of Symmetry and Showbiz are amazing as well.
BHAR is worth it simply for Supermassive Black Hole and Knights of Cydonia.
I remember that one too! These guys that I knew (who were complete tools) would try to be cool and have acoustic sing alongs, but the only song they knew was closing time. Ultimate Fail.
Yeah, I know what you mean about not being very musically aware. Phantom Planet was my gateway band, I guess. Moving me out of the bad world of middle school music, and into the world of actual music.
I think you're the second person I've ever talked to who knows who Brendan Benson is! I always laugh because people like Benson and Badly Drawn Boy are always used in commercials, and I'm the only person who knows who they are.
I'll have to look the Greenhornes up.
I don't listen to too much MSI, but the fact that they scandalize some of my friends is priceless.
I'm just a weird girl who likes Queen and David Bowie a little too much...
yeah, brendan benson is great. I'm pretty sure he's recording his new album, which people are saying is bluesier because of jack white's influence on him, which is probably gonna be fantastic. and yeah, the greenhornes are comprised of lj and patrick keeler (bass and drum of raconteurs) and craig fox on guitars/vox, and they sound a heck of a lot like the byrds. it's very 60s rockish.
and there's NOTHING wrong with liking david bowie =D
Haha. thank you! I have friends who make fun of me for liking him....
I'll download the Greenhornes right now. And that sounds awesome. I was hoping Brendan Benson wouldn't give up his solo stuff once he joined the Raconteurs.
Have you listened to the Cold War Kids much? They were opening for Muse when I saw them, and fell in love a little bit. They're great.
I like how gritty Nathan's voice is. Kings of Leon evoke this nineties feeling for me. For some reason I think of Alice in Chains and STP... it might be the hair. LOL.
I'm a big fan of the Guillemots when it comes to good voices. Trains to Brazil is one of maybe 5 songs that can make me cry. Leave me alone. I'm allowed to be a girl.
My oldest sister loved them, and as she was the only one with a car (or a drivers liscense, for that matter)we had to listen to them.... It wasn't a bad experience, though. I have to thank my sisters for keeping all of their old CDs, never had to pay for any Smashing Pumpkins albums.... they had Silverchair, and Weezer, and other good stuff too.
I just uploaded a tab version based on how I think it's played here to ultimate guitar. It might take a few days to be added, though.

best band ever...all their songs are my favorite.

Haha.... You know its DC when you hear the sirens.
But, once again, the show was amazing. Can't wait for the headlining tour.
TheLocalBlackandLiz 3 years ago
lol yeah I'm glad they're still alive after sitting outside 9:30
ethuhmastuh 3 years ago
Hahah. I'm in PG for school, so its not really a change of scenery, but the PoPos were out in full force that night.
But the show was fan-fucking-tastic
TheLocalBlackandLiz 3 years ago
man I bet it was a good show, I couldn't go because of damn school
ethuhmastuh 3 years ago
Hahah. That was my life up until last thursday. But they said they were starting another tour in Feb, headlining this time. I'm excited as hell.
TheLocalBlackandLiz 3 years ago
bout damn time!! they've been on like, 3 or 4 non-headlining tours
AHHHH this I am not going to miss at all. ever.
ethuhmastuh 3 years ago
My thoughts exactly.
And I'm excited, because Alex says hes going to work with Mark Ronson again. If the new song is half as good as Just, I'll be over the moon.
TheLocalBlackandLiz 3 years ago
yeah I mean I'm not even a big radiohead fan and I loved their cover
ethuhmastuh 3 years ago
My sister loves them, and freaked when I got her their boxed set... but I have a select favorites...
I'm more of a Muse fan than a Radiohead fan.
But they're both great....
TheLocalBlackandLiz 3 years ago
I do kind of like muse, I've considered getting black holes and revelations a few times

I'm always looking for new music
not that stuff from 5 years ago is NEW new, but y'know
ethuhmastuh 3 years ago
Hey. Hey! Muse stands the test of TIME! LOL.
My friends and I were reminiscing about nineties music. Chumbawumba came up...
I cried..
TheLocalBlackandLiz 3 years ago
haaa! I remember that song. whenever I hum in in class someone is quick to give me an angry glance. go figure.
I wasn't very musically aware back then but alot of it is still good stuff, like I love inside out by eve 6

TheLocalBlackandLiz 3 years ago
lol at the closing time bit
and I guess my gateway band was fall out boy, since they were the first alt band I ever listened to
white stripes are currently my absolute favorite band now
kings of leon, raconteurs, phantom planet (of COURSE), and jack's mannequin are all thrown in there too
ethuhmastuh 3 years ago
All very good. Pete Wentz gets on my nerves somtimes, though.
If you like the Raconteurs, you should listen to Brendan Benson's solo stuff from before they formed. I like it a lot.
Haha. I've just rediscovered the nineties swing movement. I miss that. And for some reason I'm listening to a lot of Mindless Self Indulgence.
TheLocalBlackandLiz 3 years ago
yeah, he can be a bit self absorbed
and wayyyy ahead of you! I have lapalco and the alternative to love, both excellent albums
and also the greenhornes is a great raconteurs-related band
and I don't really like msi's music but I think jimmy urine is hilarious, I saw him in a podcast once

TheLocalBlackandLiz 3 years ago
I do kind of like cold war kids, with the whole piano rock thing
the guy's voice is a bit too weird for me though, which sounds kind of dumb but usually the first thing I notice about a band is the voice
like the main reason I love kings of leon is caleb's voice, there is literally no other voice like his
that I've heard, anyways
ethuhmastuh 3 years ago

alice in chains lol! nice.
and I've actually never heard of the guillemots, I'll check em out
p.s. we are MONOPOLIZING the comment section of this video
ethuhmastuh 3 years ago
I use Windows, so I know all about monopolies...
Alice in Chains FTW. I love nineties music. I spent my childhood listening to the Spin Doctors...
TheLocalBlackandLiz 3 years ago
yeah my mom won't get a mac, despite the rediculously sluggish speeds at which our computer operates
and whooa spin doctors! that takes me back
as far as I can remember anyways

mann smashing pumpkins is the stuff. especially mellon collie... the song galapagos is probably my favorite, although bullet is a close second
and weezer's great too, although I think the green album was the beginning of the end for them
