No matter what a person wants to say or how they want to portray Kinison, he ALWAYS took the high road. And by that, I mean that Sam said the things he said but then he didn't back off. If -later on- he felt that he was wrong, or that he didn't give a peer the proper space with which to articulate themselves, he would admit it. What you should understand is that these guys are at WORK! If they are speaking publicly, they are playing you. It is that simple. Honest takes but guided for shock.

The saddest part about Kinison is that the man had so much potential next to Bill Hicks. Dice proved you can be a successful comedian with good material but no character. Kinison had both. Dice was the Dane Cook of the early 90s.
Carlin had mentioned Kinison & Hicks of having edgy promise and Kinison had the comedic personality to have a relevant career just like Carlin.

Before I became a listener I thought it was all about porn and chicks, too. Then I listened and found out that very little of the show is about that at all. Most of it is compelling, current, topical, and, best of all, funny. But you're entitled to your opinion, of course.

Howard was the Master. Sam was the perfect guest. (Anyone remember the, "Man-Dude Fight"? And Jessica Hahn was great.
