stage 4 and 5, the reason why i havent beat it on normal without continues yet. i had like 7 lives at the beginning like you, but when i try to dodge and not bomb my way through patchys spellcards i lose so many lives :(

i think remilia is way easier that patchy lol

Which character do you use? Patchy has different spellcards for each character/shottype.

ReimuB has the hardest set of spellcards (Grr Princess Undine) while ReimuA and MarisaB have easier ones. MarisaA has also a doable fight. :o

I practiced Remilia way too much and now I can't even perfect Cirno/Meiling @_@

@DelichiousApple i use marisa illusion lazer (i thinks thats marisaB), and i know what u mean that patchy is easier then because i used to use marisaA, and that was unbeatable lol.

i lose lives because of cirno too, her first spellcard is a pain and if i dont concentrate during perfect freeze im also screwed. meilings 2nd spell, that rainbow thing, also costs me a bomb and most of the time her 3rd and 4th make me use a bomb too T_T

Rage Trilithon (first spell): Stay under Patchy and dodge anything that comes in your way. Don't move too much.

Metal Fatigue: Never managed to capture this one. Just Master Spark in her face.

Emerald Megalith: Stay under Patchy and dodge the falling green bubbles.Simple.

Water Elf: A very easy one. No advice, just dodge.

Icicle Fall: Stay under Cirno, shoot as much as possible. After 3 waves of yellow bullets, pass through the right/left wall and finish her off.

Meiling's spellcards need practice so unlock her stage in Practice and get used to Rainbow Wind Chime. If you use MarisaA, you'll quickly finish Colorful Rain and imo, just bomb Extreme Color Typhoon. -_-

ive downloaded some replays, but knowing how to do them doesnt mean you can do them. there are times i beat cirno without using a bomb, the next time i lose 2 lives. but even so, the few times i lost like 1 life when im at stage 5, i get beat up by sakuya, but i know how to do those, its just so hard T_T

i find it really hard to dodge her yellow/green bullets because half of them are traveling sideways. compared to that, her final spellcard is a walk in the park because it's basically all moving away from one point.

I will honestly say that every time I make a perfect run of Stages 1-3 on Normal while using Reimu A, I always get killed at least twice on Patchy's stage. It's embarrassing.

4:15 Mistake I usually do: Try dodge those balls on the beam`s side (usually thinking the beam would disappeard soon enough) And I get there only on Easy. mode. In Normal difficult 2:20 is as far I can go. :p

he does slow down, when the lasers are in front of marisa she's in sfocus mode (slowed down), but Marisa is so fast that it doesn't look much like it

@GentlemanAeon777 If you have Full Power, then when you travel to the top fifth of the screen, all the on-screen items will come to you. In later games, you can do this auto-collect without having to be at Full Power.

I have a question; I've noticed that you have about 6 or 7 lives when you start this stage. How do you get that many? The only extra life I get in the entire run is when you beat the Stage 3 mid-boss, so where am I missing the potential extra lives?

10, 20, 40, and 60 million points specifically.

Now i'm just a beginner at touhou but you make it look easy.

I always get trapped by patchouli's lasers since the bullets cover all my exit routes and the laser finishes me off.

I know a lil about feint which is moving very slightly since bullets are aimed at you but somehow i always manage to get myself trapped and eventually having to use a bomb or get killed. x_x

And eye'm trying to finish this game on normal without continues.

You go sufficiently high on the screen while in full power mode to collect every point and power item on screen. And when you destroy one of those fairies that spam spirals of blue bullets, every bullet on the screen is turned into a point item and collected.
