  • The best ways for me to curl dumbells, hold both of them the way you would curl a curling bar and do it that way. That twisting of the arm on the way up should be a completely different excercise altogether.

  • For everyone who says his form is wrong, I've put on faster results doing what I can barely lift in half decent form until I could perfect the form and add a few more reps on to it, than I have doing lighter weight with better form.   • you use your back way to much. Try standing completely still doing it or sitting on a bench doing it. You probably can only do 40

    I'm 17yr. 143lb and I can do 50lbs pry only like 6 reps each arm and I'll be dying but I'm using 45lbs. right now, because I don't like the adjustable ones they always come loose and tear up my hands but I went to walmart and the highest weight dumbell they have is a 45lb...

  • I'm pretty sure you probably still could do that weight but i agree with the other guys here, your form is off. Try going slower to avoid momentum and keeping your elbows locked at your side and motionless to avoid using your back or shoulders. Try watching Scooby's channel here on youtube, he gives great tips and demonstrations.

  • my max dumbbell weight that I've done is 56 lbs per arm...trust me, i only did like 5 and that was hard. oh yeah, and im 18 so i have many more years to get bigger weights

He has his own weight set & everything that he bought from some guy. He has dumbbells where you can put many smaller weights on it and knowing me, I put many small weights on it (i dont exactly know which particular weights they were) BUT after putting the weights together, i put it on the scale and it came to be 56 lbs

  • @MrJoeMontano My bad we were talking about differnt dummbells. The ones u are talking about are called adjustable dumbbells since you choose the weight u put on it. But why put them on a scale when most weights have numbers on them just add it up.

  • @MBG871 their actually hammer curls, its in hammer curl position thru 90% of the ROM then at the end where little tension is on the muscle he slightly turns the weight, those are 90% hammer curl, 10% normal curl, just what it is.

  • guy form makes no difference when you lift things that aren't weights,its the ability to move the wieght that matters not how you do it. also curling gets fun when you curl 50lbs for 20 reps straight each arm(I can't afford 80's).

  • im 14 and with a good form and no swinging, same form and speed as i would with a 15 i can curl a 35 pound 8 times with right arm and 4 times with left arm. how can i make left stronger for about 3 months now i have done 1 extra set with my left arm each time ive worked out with a 15 pound and its not getting stronger

  • try sitting behind a bench on the ground with your arms on the bench infront of a cable machine, and do a preacher curl, this way your focusing on your bicep and not using your shoulders or swinging, do about 15 reps of watever you can and repeat for 4 sets, or watever you want, just an idea for all the knobs who are gonna say something haha

  • depends on wat your training for, you should only do 6 to 8 if your power training and doin a shit load of weight, but for 15 reps use modrate weight and you feel it workin toward the end of sets, to build muscle size that is, but watever

  • If you're also wondering about my left, I can manage 45 lbs for 12 reps, on a day when im feeling good. I know, my right is quite noticeably stronger than my left, I have to fix that.

  • I have very recently upped my dumbbell curl to 55s for 8 (right arm only). Once again, with near perfect form. Back straight, feet shoulder width apart, absolutely 0 swinging. The only malfunction in my form is that on the last rep I have a tendency to lean my back into it.

  • To keep good form without even trying, start curling with your opposite arm as you bring the opposite arm down. Crazy bicep burn if you do that, and the workout gets done quicker instead. So as your bringing one arm down, during that time start bringing your other one up, in doing so, it makes it impossible to lean one way or another... Meaning you will only be using your biceps to curl the weights.

  • well i think you alil work excelero12, you need to keep your elbows pointed more inwards towards your body, you swing and jerk your back and alil bit to, the only thing that should be moving is the bottom part of your arm which is your forearm, the forearm is what flexs the bicep, at the top you should concentrate on flexing that bicep and hold it at the top for a count of 1-4, and then bring the weight down slowly and controlled for a count of 4 seconds, overall I give you a 6/10.

    supplements and creatine are not used for an easy way out.. body builders also use these things to look the way they do. so it is not an easy way out. steroids i know are obviously bad.. and creatine has its effects, but pro bb's defintely use creatine
