  • Which color did you use to paint this kit: Light Ghost or Dark Ghost Gray??

Sometimes it looks like Gunship Gray.I guess the 8 windows Seaview is painted in this color. What do you think about it?

I guess as well that the bottom of the hull is painted in the same hull color, instead of the sugested Camouflage Gray.I think this lighter tone color on the bottom is just because the reflection of the studio light on the ground scenarium, that reflects on the bottom. What do you think about it?Thx.

  • @ppvpz I painted it in light ghost greyI have a booklet that came with a debouer seaview that I have completed .It descibes all about the restoration of the 17 feet model.. when the 17 feet studio model was restored it was found to have several diferant layers of grey on it . I guess through the 4 years of filming they used slightly differant shades of grey.

I painted the bottom of mine white but on the studio model it states they did use off white.

  • @johnyswoonara Thanks a lot for your assistance. You said they used Off White on the bottom, but I think in this case is to trend this off white to the very very light grey.I mean, 100 parts of flat white and 2 parts of camouflage gray, for example.

About the 8 windows Seaview ( the original, from the movie ), do you agree about the gunship gray??I have finally realized that the hull bottom here is on the same color that is used on the TV Seaview. Thanks and Regards.

  • @ppvpz: It was slightly bluer than FS 36118 on the top and the underside was close to Tamiya TS 81 but with a touch of medium green added. That's matched to the 4 footer as seen behind Walter Pigeon in the feature.

  • @ppvpz Um, uh, er.... I did a complete color break down of the 2nd-4th season Seaview's actual colors on Hobby Talk dot com if you'd care to take a look.

  • Great model! Well done!

  • well done model. has anyone ever converted this kit into the original eight window version?

  • @724Christian Any of the 8 window's nose contours are far more elusive than the 8 1/2 footer in Flying Sub configuration. No one's got it right yet.

  • SWEET !

  • Awesome!

  • BEAUTIFULLY DONE DUDE!!! Try doing one with the model lit and in a horizontal slow dive. Just like the one in the opening intro of the 2nd season where the radar circles appear one by one. Good job!

  • ...EXCELLENT...!
