It's because we speak english that the word was mis pronounced. it's not like we call Riku Ricku...it's pronounced REE Koo.

As Spoken in both FFX and Kingdom hearts. Also in the first Kigdom hearts if you talk to Wakka on Destiny Island he says " Me and TEE dus are going to explore that cave." and I believe that they changed it to Ty dus in KH2 but moved it back to TEE dus in Dissidia.

In kana tidus would be チドゥス so chidousu which sounds more like tee dus. But now that u pointed that out i see where the confusion comes in. Sorry if my english pronounciation is strange its my second language and jpnese is my third and i think the dissidia thing has to do with the change in producers

If Square-Enix expects us to call Tidus "Tee-dus" then you better start calling Cloud: "Croudo" and Zack: "Zack-seh".

As for the pronounciation of Tidus, I don't really see what's the problem with calling him by the only pronounciation that Square Enix has let us hear so far. I don't think it's any more difficult so say "Teedus" than "Taidus".

I take into account everything and i'm sorry but I refuse to call the character "Tee-Dus" simply because the Japanese alphabet makes it difficult to pronounce certain names. And to me, it is a problem because it's garbage like that which has begun ruining FF due to Square forcing the Japanese culture down it's fans throats. The originals didn't.
