I like the idea that certain aerospace designs potentially have a second life.Seems like everything we know can go to space with variable risks and capabilities, except cost?
This is the cheapest spacecraft design possible I think. Rockets launched from balloons may be cheaper at first, but a reusable balloon (necessary to compete) would put it over the price range. Using an existing pressurized aircraft would be extremely economical.
Does not need massive heat proofing since I think it might only do sub-orbital flight not for orbital, and judging by the diagram I think that's the case, this means the craft does not have to do a full entry burn. I'm 14 and I know this.
I'm drawing up a design for a rocketplane based off the Rocketplane XP, but it goes up to 45,000 Ft and jettisons the jet engines, it is called "Miran"
There are a lot of good engineers out there.. but what separates a good design from a good production aircraft is who's pocket you've got your hand in.
haha this thing at least looks better than virgin galactics ship. ONE craft vs. a ship and a carrier. ROCK ON. too bad im to poor to afford this. oh well, i can dream i suppose.
It's a private jet... with rockets!

It might have to be bigger for the heat proof plating your going to have to put on it for re-entry.

Hmm... Virgin Galactic/Scaled looks much more convincing. Burt Rutan has a much better design record as far as aircraft go.
