@Apandria you play the bottom part like a normal guitar and the top just like a harp. You don't "fret" on a harp, there are just a lot of strings that make the dif noises. He just hits the string for the sound he wants. Like a guitar always played "open." Kind of

@Apandria its called a hammer on. you push down on the fret with a bit of force, kind of like a hammering motion and you're able to play the note. of course most people aren't quite as good at it as this guy is.

@Apandria You just hit and hold down on the string where you would normally put your finger on that fret. The thing to watch out for is the string between the nut and your finger, which can vibrate as well. So it's up to you to quiet that side of the string if the sound bothers you.
