  • Awesomeness!

  • which programe is this?

  • Chuck Norris has diarrhea now?

  • Great effect. The lava in the bowl looks like it's suddenly hotter. I'd suggest trying to get more of the black particles to sit in the big unmoving area in the bowl, making it look like the immobile part is cooling.

  • I eat lava for breakfast...... without any milk! >:)

  • why do people call CGI truth

  • make obsidian

  • awesome lava DUDE amazing :]

  • thats what my shit looks like after a nice curry

  • looks like my penis after the tranny bar

  • lava poured into a paper bowl. lol

  • Not bad! :)

  • Should be a bit thicker so that it moves very slowly. Looks good though.

  • This is soooooooooo fake..... Lava doesnt exist....

  • Looks very real! nice job

  • add texture on to the bowl :) nice lava test :D

  • Looks more like molten metal but nice job!

  • maybe try more polygons... looks choppy

  • Picture this on Mincecraft

  • 10 people were in that bowl when the lava filled it up.

  • tutorial please!

  • i think it looks more like half molten gold sorry...

  • It flows more like a wet shit than lava.

  • I'm feeling this! Fill that up to overflowing!

  • maaan that is hot .... LOL cool though!!

  • MY EYES! IT BURNES!

  • Hey this one is real good, and looks realistic engough...;)

  • i would call it melting metal :p

  • Mmmm, bowl of lava. Very tasty.

  • wow epic. that is all i can say :)

  • Okee.. so you did use two emitters: the cold black one with hight viscosity and the glowing yellow/orange one. but how did you make the black particles lighter so it floats on top of the heavyer particles?

  • @squardis The particles have density values. The dark particles have less density then the hot ones, making them float.

  • Thats sweet you could green screen out the bowl and channel use it for some vfx

  • Looks like glowing honey.

  • very nice

  • I like it... congrats

  • how do you make the lava glow like that

  • on c4d try to add a new matierial with a glow effect

  • Looks very real,I have two questions for you.You did this with realflow?

You can show me how to make lava color,or material?

  • excellent

  • Good physics, lava is exactly like that. But it should blacken while sitting in the bucket.

  • And the bucket should melt <,<

  • how did you make this?

  • hai shal u give met the lava shader ..pls........

  • Are you using 3DS Max? I used to use glue 3d but it takes too many time to do it and it is not good for text filling. Have any one got an idea how to fill text using 3Ds Max or Real Flow? thx.

  • Well, using any liquid solver (particle or volume) will take a long time. That's just how it is. I don't use 3DS Max, but I can tell you that filling text is a rather easy exercise in RealFlow.

  • Thank you very much for the help. And nice vid. keep the good work.

  • Would be perfect if you had materials on the other 2 things...

  • it looks like more melt gold...

  • @MortallicA91 have you seen many melt gold? then give me some dude

  • @magicortega just search in google and youtube. there are plenty videos/pics with gold melting

  • @MortallicA91 how can you tell? lol, all metals have that bright color when melted

  • Comment removed

  • Well, as you've probably noticed, I'm using two particle systems. One for the hot lava and one for the cool lava. The cool lava mesh has a noise map that's applied in realflow. This makes it bumpy. The textures don't stick to the mesh. If you look closely you can see the hot lava "swimming" through the texture. The textures a pretty simple lambert shaders with 2D texture maps applied to them. You might try using projection mapping and animating the projection with the mesh to make it stick.

  • NICE!

  • cool how do you do it do you just turn up surface tension and texturise i8it?

  • Pro.

  • good job

  • Good idea i think i`ll try...

  • I don't know why everyone has given you thumbs down, I think that would be a great idea, difficult too!

  • lol u even have lava in that program? :D awesome. i want it :D

  • You can get a free, non-commercial version for the NextLimit Website.

  • Very nice lava! I too have been messing with Lava since RF did the little challenge a bit ago. And doing the 2 Emitter System with different densities seems to have a lot of potential. The only problem is if you want to cool and freeze the lava... I guess clever editing could be used if needed. My only thought would be to widen the top emitter for the darker floating material to better coat the hot lava stream. I posted on example I just did yesterday using Maxwell.

  • i think you should have turned the glow down a little.., lava doesnt glow like that.., you would also have maintained the black ash of real lava rather than that brown ash you have there. this shader would have been beter used as molten gold given a few more adjustments.., nice twist on the tut though :)

  • by the look of your site you wouldnt even know what realflow is?? very constructive comment..,

  • WOOOT!?!?? O_O

  • nice shader

  • whoa, very nice man. Interesting liquid, I should try to make one like that too...

  • did u use real flow textur support with meshing or it was a blobby maya?

cool(lava was done in real flow for the lord of the ring)

  • very nice looking

  • what texture are you using?

  • It's made from 2 interacted particle systems. Textures were done in maya 2008. The black texture is just a black lambert shader. The yellow texture is a lambert with a 3D fractal map that controls the incandescence and color.

  • Thanks a lot man, i want to use this kinda of lava on an animation this coming semester.

    cheers

  • r u making animation ?? can we chat some other time just for sharing ideas? wow your great

  • damn, thats just awsome!

  • just a opinion? a bit more particles and viscocity perhaps? :) it looks great either way

  • looks real and believable

  • cool
