  • * Ab Tak Dil-e-Khush Fahm Ko Hain, Tujh say Umeedein - Ye Akhiri Shama'ein Bhi Bujhane Keliye Aa - - Wonderful poetry by Ahmad Fraz, Pakistani poet. Mehdi Hassan is my *GURU* This ghazal, i compsed (Raga- Akhirbhairon) and sang in All Pakistan Music Contest for student in 1969, held in Bagh-e-Jinnah, Lahore. The great Mehdi was pleased. Then he was invited to sing in a film by Nisar Bazmi in 1971. Bazmi sahib composed in raga Aiman. a wonderful item.Dancing girls nearly in rhythm, good, 1st time

  • thanks for the info...Bage-e-Jinnah what a place ,many great music shows and plays were done there in past

  • The beauty of MH's voice is that it is vigorous yet delicate at the same time; to project sturdiness and tenderness simultaneously is not given to everyone. It is a Heaven-endowed gift (In their better performances, Ghulam Ali and Jagjit Singh are like that too, and Khalid Asgharji, you yourself embody the twin qualities when you sing.). I also love the harmonium and the tabla. The humble harmonium is absolutely crucial to a good ghazal rendition. Thanks, cheecheepia.

  • thanks chamogaa ji....you put lots of flowers in small basket

    Enjoyed 101%.

Thanks a lot to the uploader and to chamogaa ji to share with me. A real GEM !!!

    Maina

  • Thanks maina ji and chamogaaji for forwarding....

  • This was the first ghazal of Mehdi Sahib that I heard about thirty years ago and I was floored. Even now it impresses me as much as it did then and the recording is superb.
