Instead of people grousing about the impact on existing fisheries? They are prolific and have adapted to American waters. In the good old days someone would be getting rich from this by now.

On the 1:00-1:06 is actually a boat created by DNR. Bighead Carp is the main ingredient of a popular Chinese cuisine called fish head soup. This particular type of fish has never been a problem in places like Taiwan and China because people consume them regularly. Maybe we could catch and export them back to Asia to balance the trade.

Since people claim that native fish's population is reduced by these carps already and they're not compatible with the American eating habits, I would add another prized invasive species to the mix: the snakeheads. They grow big. They eat other fish and they taste good. It's a win-win-lose. 2 to 1. It's a good deal.

On the 1:00-1:06 is actually a boat created by DNR. What it does is send a 10,000volt current into the water causing fish to panic and jump at which point, in a "NORMAL FISH MONITORING RUN", the DNR officials would have small nets to scoop up the stunned fish. To activate the voltage a trigger has to be stepped on in the front corners of the boat. What I see in this video is "NOT" the normal reactions of our freshwater fish. THESE ASIAN CARP ARE AGGRESSIVE AND DANGEROUS TO OUR FRESH WATERS!!

Bighead Carp is the main ingredient of a popular Chinese cuisine called fish head soup. This particular type of fish has never been a problem in places like Taiwan and China because people consume them regularly. Maybe we could catch and export them back to Asia to balance the trade.

if you read the article about pink amazon dolphins being killed for bait here is the perfect replacement. electrify the water while a good sized barge for them to jump in is being towed or near by when full take to freeze and sell to brazil dirt cheep as bait and save the river dilphins. carp are like rats of the water

They are a superfish! the only way to stop them is to find commercial use for them. If you can find a way to turn them into "edible" fish you might have a chance at controlling them.
