  • sounds like a slo-mo model 5.

  • sounds like a dying trombone

  • needs to be fixed asap..:)

  • that is one sad thunderbolt :(

  • LOL!!!!!!!

  • It Sounds Like A Honda Civic With A Fart Can

  • @JoshCraver9000 exactly

  • very poor tbolt siren it sounds so sickly

  • LOL at 0:59.

  • is that thing on crack

  • poor tbolt we take care for u =(

  • I live in st.louis and there is like 20 or 30 tbolts in are system

  • Drunk T-bolt XD

  • Wow. Every time, it's like "I think I can, I think I can... Damn it, no, I cant!"

  • Should I get out and Push?

  • @TboltHurricane i doubt manually turning the rotator would do anything besides wreck your ears. :P

  • @cheetawolf - Well... Obviously, Im not gonna rotate it by hand if its already rotating. Ill just spin the chopper and see If I have any fingers left

  • Still sounds better than a 2001.

  • Although raw, it does sound better than any 2001. Bless it with new bearings, brushes and a douse of Marvel Mystery oil.

  • God, did they replace it?

  • sounds like a honda hahaha

  • I tried not to but I still LOL'd. I feel bad for the thing...also, it looks like the blower is mounted vertically on the pole, hopefully that didn't wear it down, running sideways like that.

  • or excuse me...that was the traffic light. actually i cant tell where the blower actually is.

  • The way it winds down and quiclkly winds up again remins me of the tone that the Whelen Sirens in Denmark have.

  • Poor siren Q-Q

  • At 0:48, is that sputtering noise coming from the siren? Also, the buzzing in the background; is that the compressor for the siren?

(Sorry if my three separate comments are a nuisance. If anyone wants me to, I will combine all my comments into one comment.)

  • @Bonemeal2 - Yeah. Thats the blower. And that Rattling noise happens in a few broken Tbolt vids. idk what it is.

  • @TboltHurricane The rattling noise is actually the air from the blower hitting each individual port on the rotor as it spins down to a stop.

  • I also like your commentary at 0:58 seconds. "That thing is fucked!"

  • First time I've ever seen a siren that rotates during shutdown, and stops when it's running! Yeah, that's jacked...

  • Poor siren--sounds like it's on its last leg.

  • at 1:19 it tried to unfuck itself and sound normal but unfortunetly it failed.

    good thing this got fixed!

  • 0:49 & 1:14 sounds like its trying to take off

  • Or maybe it's just on crack.........

  • Sounds like worn bearings/bushings.

  • Sounds like my bathroom during halftime in the Superbowl. YEAH!!!

  • i can hear the chopper rubbing on the stator at 0:48.

may that and failed brushes or collector rings caused this.

    poor thing.

  • Sounds like the chopper motor, brushes, or bearings have gone to hell.

  • i think brushes and/or bearings are the issue

  • It's saying " Somebody get up here and repair me NOW ! I don't care who , JUST REPAIR ME !!!!!"

  • @Droideka133 REPAIRMEREPAIRMEREPAIRMEREPAIRMEREPAIRMEREPAIRMEREPAIRMEREPAIRMEREPAIRMEREPAIRMEREPAIRMEREPAIRMEREPAIRMEREPAIRMEREPAIRMEREPAIRME

  • @gerbilPROJECT Sadly, tbolts are no longer manufactured and cannot be repaired. If they do have to replace, it'll probably be a 2001.

  • @snootzie78 Yes they still can be repaired...The chopper motors, brushes and bearings are still manufactured for the Model 2, and if the city has extra parts from other TBolts, they most certainly can be repaired.

  • It either has gas, or it's about to vomit.

  • Sounds like a leafblower to me...

  • OH MY GOD! That thunderbolt 100 is bleeped up.

  • I hear the chopper blades in there. Did blue valley fix the poor thing?

  • what would it sound like when it is on alert mode?

  • I think it's got dirty collector rings.

  • @chicagolandhobby

    Those dirty rings!! LOL

  • This kind of reminds me of a 1000T in my town at Ryder Park that needs new bearing and brushes. This is much worse, though. I have a video of the one in my town in attack and it almost stops during each cycle.

  • What signal is this siren trying to make? Attack?

  • Poor Thunderbolt....its been Neglected. :-((

  • @silver2002ta:let me know if this siren gets replaced, i might go down there in may 2 listen 2 it. they test it 1st wed of the month right?

  • Dang, i can even hear the motor running in it. Its got bad brushes.

  • I went and visited this one earlier this evening. Surprised it is still there after this.

  • Oh it's fucked up again. Didn't even sound for yesterdays tornado drill

  • I called JOCO Emergency Management yesterday and they have an order out for Blue Valley to inspect the siren. I live right down the street from this thing

  • Very sad. :^(

  • Thunderbolt must have some blower or chopper problems. I hope they get that fixed!

  • It's either on chopper level 1, or the brushes are worn out.

  • the brushes are out

  • Yeah...listening to it again it's definately not on chopper 1 lol.

  • DUDE!!!! I used to go there im an eighth grader at antioch now.

  • i think it needs new brushes

  • Call them up and tell them about the problem. Sounds like the blower is having problems. Poor Tbolt :(.

  • It was reported. And they replaced it almost the next day... WITH ONE OF THOSE DAMN 2001S!

  • They'd be better off with t-128's I like them better than 2001's I can at least tolerate with them.

  • Yeah the 2001 near my house has a bad battery, causing a wavering tone. It's broken, but it sounds better that way! lol

(I later found out that the aforementioned siren replaced KC's last Thunderbolt in Platte Woods in 2002, not the 1003 by Downtown Airport that was hit by a plane in 1991.)

  • 1:51, is that the blower shutting off?

  • i hear a 2001 in the background, where i live, thats all we got. i dont really care for them

  • Kansas City also has an all-2001 system. I HATE 2001s!

  • Poor siren. It's seen better days.

  • 1:47, you can hear a NORMAL 1000 in the background windown

  • the attack tone is still being emitted, but it does not sound good at all, a likely reason for this is because the bearings and motor need replacing.

  • That thing sounds horrible how come it keeps stopping every 5 sec and is that the blower I can hear after 1:00 or your car?

  • Sounds like it's attempting to do attack mode.

  • You better check that shit out!!

  • are the brakes on? lol

  • Sounds like a whelens whoop.

  • It does

  • when it winds down low it sounds like a fart

    LOL

    poor tbolt :(

  • It has been reported to the Shawnee Kansas Fire Department and they said it would be looked at.....

  • Chopper motor might be shot, just a guess though.

  • just imagine if the service lochmoor and salter park tbolts all sounded like that in my area :(

  • bearings are going they need to FIX i ASAP if not the bearings will look up!!!

  • That is one sharp drop for the wind-down!

  • Sounds like either low voltage in the chopper motor, or high friction in the system....one of the two.

  • bearings...bearings!! AH

  • Bearings anyone????????

  • poor thing, good thing it didn't blow

  • Its winds up good then i guess it "hiccups".

    I don't wtf is with 1:05. or 1:19

  • Aww!! Poor Thunderbolt. Hope its fixed. :(

Fix it for god sake!! >:|

    Great video, Also.

  • Oh i'm so scared

    I said that sarcastically buginafuck

  • It sounds just like that sick 1000 that used to be in Plymouth, MI.

  • this reminds me of the one that used to be in Plymouth, MI at the old Police station.

This Siren is in Pain, call a Doctor!!!!!

  • I agree with Jeb, sounds like it needs new bearings..BADLY.

Poor siren, I wish someone would fix it. Aside of that, still a great video!

  • I thought you LIKE Thunderbolt 1000's.. *rolls eyes*

  • Hahaha, about 1 minute in it gets worse, it sounds like a dying moose. I'm surprised it didn't start a cattle stampede. I like Tbolts, but this is so bad sounding I laughed!

  • two questions one is has it been struck by lightning and two what will the do to the siren run repair or replace the siren

poor thunderbolt i think it needs oil :(

  • Sounds like its hitting the cap.

  • Or mybe with a restored Thunderbolt 1000T

  • Wont happen. If blue valley comes out they will replace it with a 2001 which will really SUCK

  • I would put good money on chopper motor bearings that are locking up.

  • Either that or it's an open field like the one you had?

  • Nope if it was a field it would run bad all the time. It starts off normal in the beginning of the vid and gets worse as the bearings heat up.

  • Nope, chopper motor bearings are GONE in this ol' girl. If they catch it soon enough and replace the bearings, they can still save the field and armature in this motor before they burn up.

  • Yeah, listening to the speed of the wind-down i guess y'all are right ;)

  • boy that is one sick siern they need to fix it

  • wow. Poor tbolt.

  • Holy Shit! That is a fucked up tornado siren. What you have to do is report this to your EMA director immediately. You need to tell him that this siren isn't sounding right and also tell him that it should be taken down and have some work done on it or replaced.

  • Man, that Thunderbolt 1000 sounds horrible! I hope it gets fixed sometime!

  • Wow that Thunderbolt 1000 needs to be serviced right away or replace it with a 2001 Siren

  • Dude, 2001? you crazy?

  • @Antipwnsurmum Sadly, tbolts are nonreplaceable. If they do, it has to be at least a 2001.

  • @snootzie78 If the repair doesn't require a major rebuild the city will have an option to get it repaired.
