  • ... And "happiness in slavery", when the upload?.

    Greetings

  • He's saying, "This is a song about HATE!"

  • omg dowwardspiral tour .. awsome

  • So much fun to watch these guys in 1994. Still great last year, but wow is that energetic footage!

  • My band is covering this song, and it sounds awesome.

How did you get so big????

  • What the hell is that sample he used at the begining of this song? It sounds so cool.

  • I thought i was the only one that noticed that. This is a very unique performance in that he sings the second verse in a higher tone than any other. I wish the audio was a little better and this performance recorded somehow.

  • @3z3three It sounds like he's saying "So I hate" Or, "So much hate"

  • Greatest NIN song of all time (my pinion)

  • did you mean to say opinion or did you say pinion on purpose cause its nine inch nails hahaha

  • lol I'm glad somone noticed that. That was on purpose

  • ha NICE!

  • lol yeah looks like Robin got a bit pissed off lol.

  • 2:58 - ... [solo] which wah does he use???

  • I think he used a standard dunlop crybaby back in the day...so I thats my best guess.

  • The lyrics do sort of sound reminisant of that, but it is about his label manager much like the whole of the album broken. The main character in TDS is 'Trent'.

  • TDS is a concept album. the ruiner is not an attack on god. NIN book by Martin Huxley, Reznor explains the lyrics came out of disgust for his manager and the label (TVT). fucked him on his contract and the copyrights. the manager basically pretended to be he's only friend, who just used trent. 'the ruiner's your only friend" = record label execs; 'how'd you get so big, how did you get so strong, how did it get so hard, how did it get so long =basically talking about his success. read the book

  • what is the book called? you got me all interested now

  • singing in a higher key for the second verse elevated the whole song and experience to a new level and the crowd seemed to respond to it.

  • aww guitar :(

    awesome song tho

  • a song about hate

  • i prefere nin older stuff aswell as thier older videos when he was young and his voice still had passion

  • The screams were more intense back then, but no doubt he sings better now.

  • lol at 1:33. robin dances a little bit

  • the guitar kinda disappointed me cause this was the first song ever where i noticed nin had guitar solos in their songs, and its MY FAVE!

  • You didn't hurt me, nothing can't hurt me, you didn't hurt me, nothing can stop me now!

  • one of the best songs of TDS...1994...awesome year!!

  • OHHHHHHH GOD!!!This is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    thanx for posting!!!

  • Guess that guitar didn't work. I think it got off easy.
