  • can you show how it looks with like a 'test' video?

  • Thanks great upload. I plan on doin this with my fs200

  • can u put a link in the description for the right size step down ring so i dont mess up and waste money please?

  • and why would i want to glue the filter to the camera?

  • @aequitas18 you are not glueing the filter but the step down ring so you can use it's threads to screw any filter or lens you want

  • para que es ese lente que le pusiste ?

  • Is Canon FS100 filtre size 43 mm? I couldnt an answer and after step down ring or UV lens, should I get adapter which has 37mm Thread Size

  • hey, whats up! where can i look for them Fisheye For my Canon FS100??

  • After stepdown ring 43 - 37 mm, is there any acceptable adapter for on this ?

  • can you tell me exactly what did you used?..

  • Number Error its 34-37 not 43-37 wanted to point that out incase buyers dont waste money and time

  • @ultrazuka no its not a error he sead clearly that it is a step DOWNring so is a 43 to 37

  • i did the same thing to my sony dcr sx41, but i shoegooed the adapter to it. it makes it easier to remove and its stronger. i recomend using a raynox snap on fisheye/wide angle lense because its light and it has a less chance of the adapter falling off.

  • @brando11236 yo I have the same camera and fisheye, but u should use a 27-37 step up ring because it fits perfectly on the front of the cam and u won't have to worry about it being straight but make sure the ring is black because if u watch my newest vid u can see the silver from it

  • can i use a opteka .43 fisheye lens for my sony dcr-sx44 camcorder using a stepdown ring 43-37mm?

  • I like it but where do u get the step down ring and what size

  • why need to glue it?

can't it just fit with the fisheye or step down ring ?

  • dude seriously turn on the lights

  • Guys i did this with my sony dcr-sx40 and it works :D

  • @sergiop662 hey man, I have got the same camcorder as you and want to mount a wide angle lens to it. I've tried to put on it Kenko SGW-05 37mm with a ring but actually this ring covers corners a little bit. What ring did you use. Don't you have a problem with covering the corners? This ring is made of aluminium so it might be a problem to glue it to plastic. Isn't it? What glue did you use?

  • @fryderico Hi. well i bought an opteka 0.3x baby death fisheye and the adapters fited perfectly. as for the glue. i used normal crazy glue. or you can use gorilla glue that works much better.

  • So after reading all these comments which is the best (sizewise) step down ring I should use?

  • whwre do u get the stepdown ring ?

  • what size should the uv lense be

    And the wide angle lense

  • how much does that exact same lens cost?

  • @Akike2012 25$ on Deal Extreme

  • An would it matter if mine is 48X zoom istead of 45?

  • Then if you put the stepdown ring on any kind of fish eye works on it?

  • Does the fs100/200 not have threads?

  • no threads.

  • yes

  • ok, im trying to get to get a baby death lens to fit on my canon fs200 which is identical to the fs100.

so i would need to glue a 34mm-37mm step ring on the cam, then put the uv lens one, the screw the baby death lens on?

is that correct? cuz im not so sure

  • where can i buy the stepdown ring

  • ebay

  • what would be a good search term for Ebay or Amazon? I am not new with Digital still cameras, as i have had a few Polaroids, and Fuji Models, but the FS100 is my first true digital camcorder. Any help you could provide would be great thank you

  • will rubbber cement work with this

  • who makes the stepdown ring? and where can i buy it?

  • ebay

  • Hey could you pretty much do this with any camera that doesn't have threads

  • would this work if you have a opteka baby death lens

  • No, the other way around, you need a 37mm wide angle lens.

  • Well im tryin to get a opteka fisheye lens what size of a ring adapter do i get?

  • so if i get the same step down ring as you, that means i need to get a 43mm fisheye or wide angle lens?

  • Comment removed

  • Hey everyone just wanted to say they have the ring going on Ebay for about $3

  • Comment removed

  • nvm found a 43 to 37

  • Would it work if I were to use a 40.5 to 77mm stepdown ring? Thanks.

  • @LakaiSkater3 that wouldnt be a step down ring then would it! haha

  • Potxoki , can you please tell me where you got the supplies, ive been looking everywhere, please.

  • hola oye me puedes escribir con mas detalles como hacer esto y los nombres de lo que necesito para hacerlo, yo tambien tengo una fs100 y necesito adaptarle un wide angle porfavor

  • where did you get the WAL, Stepdown ring and UV filter. People say they get them at Best Buy but non of the local ones have it. Its not even on there site!

  • Does the UV lens, And Wide Angle Lens have a certain thread size? And if so what is it?

  • Can you help me cause you seem to know alot about fish eyes and video camers witch is a good thing. Okay, so im getting a SMX-F34LN video camera. I think thats the name. And i have a question is there a fish eye i can get for it to help film lines. The video camera is 250$ and i need a fish eye can you please help. Please reply back thanks

  • I've seen a picture of that samsung camera. As far as I see you are in trouble with it. It has no threads to screw the lens, as you already know, but to make it worse IT HAS THE MIC at both sides of the lens frame, so if you attach/glue a ring to it you will certainly lose the sound recording capabilities. Sorry

  • ok good, i havent baught it yet. Do you know whats a good camera that i can attach a fish eye to? One that you would recommend for skating

  • not necessarily, I've got Raynox QC303 semi fish eye 0.3x and it doesn't affect FS100 mic. at all. It's a small lens with 43g only.

    Regards

  • how did u put the raynox on the cam ( i have same stuff)

  • I got step up ring 34-37mm. At the moment i use tape to connect step up ring with camcorder and because QC303 is light weight lens, tape is strong enough to use it outdoor.

  • @airbuko what step numbers step down ring did u use for this?? I have the canon fs19, I think its the same lens and I wanna get the same fisheye. Are you happy with it?

  • It's not a dumb question, I had the same doubts before buying all the stuff. In this case I'm presenting, the lens has to be 37mm thread.

  • I have a question, the lens has to be for 37mm thread or 43mm? Sorry ifit's a dumb question but i just wanna make sure i get the correct one, thanks

  • thanks for answer, I haven't bought wide angle lens yet ... and I dont know how to connect lens with cammcorder to get NO vignieting. First I'll try with my 34-37mm step ring as soon as I'll get my lens. I hope it will work.

    Thanks again for info.

    Regards

  • Hi airbuko, you deleted your comment but I'm answering it anyway as I think it's important information.

You asked if I get vigneting and the answer is YES. Due to the width of the step down adapter. I think the best fit will be a 46-37 that is much thinner. I have one so I'll try if I'm able to unglue the 43-37.

  • by the way unglue

I've heard that polish remover works well with cyanoacrylates... but maybe it's olny a rumor

    Good luck ;)

  • Acetone should do the trick, but it attack plastics that's why I haven't dared to try it yet.

  • Hi Potxoki, I reveived my semi fish eye lens. I've tried with 34-37mm step ring and it does NOT get vignetting in all modes EXCEPT "EASY" mode. Because easy mode is a bit wider than others I can see a little vignetting. Before I decide to glue it I'll try one more option. I bought 30.5-34mm step ring and I'll cut off 30.5mm thread part. This way I will get only female(inner)34mm threads. If I'll be able to fix it to my camcorder then it will be perfect solution.

    Regards

  • Great news, I'm just trying to remove the ring I glued to the cam using acetone, but it's almost impossible. Well, at last I know the lens are not going to fall from the camera never ever :D

  • Potxoki, I finish my changes to FS100 and threads looks like they were always there. I used step up ring 30.5-34mm and cut off in half. First I had to remove plastic part without threads(in camcorder) and replaced it with my 34mm ring with female threads. It works perfect. No Vignietting in any mode. ONE MORE THING. Dont worry to use acetone ..silver cover around a camcorder lens is made from aluminium... Good luck with your FS100.

  • Great to hear that. I finally unglued the ring and glued a smaller one. Acetone does not affect aluminum, but the inner part of the camera focus is made of plastic, and some drops of acetone reached it. Anyway make sure you are not getting vignetting. I don't see vignetting in the camera screen either BUT then it appears when transfering the movie to the PC, I think it has something to do with widescreen mode I'm using.

  • where did you get the wide angle lens and filters/step down rings

  • Can you remove the step down ring? I've heard horror stories where it can never be removed and then ruins your lens when glue drips onto it

  • I managed to remove it, with a lot of patience and very carefully. It's not easy, but it's possible.

  • oups! I forgot add piece

(step ring threads goes into non threads inner part of camcorder lens)

    sorry my mistake :)

  • Hi, do you have any vignietting while using wide angle lens with your FS100? I bought step ring 34-37mm (goes which covers a bit a canon lens plate. 43-37mm looks better but thicker too. That's why I wonder if 43-37mm doesn't create a Vigniett?

    Cheers

  • where do you buy all these things??

  • Ebay stores

  • nice video...

but can you make this easy for us...

can you please put a link on the video description box whre we can buy or order those stuff

  • this will work on the canonc fs10 right?

and what is the size of the UV lens

  • Yes, it should. The size of the UV lens thread in my case is the same as the wide angle, 37mm, but if you want to protect the wide angle lens it depends on the outside thread of your WAL

  • where can i buy it??? i don't find a 37mm wide angel lens

  • Comment removed

  • I know, something about reversing the lens... may be someday I'll try.

  • Yes! There is light at the end of my FS100 tunnel- and it's coming thru a wide angle lens! How much should I expect to pay for a WAL similar to what you used or what would work? Is the step down commonly found?Good work!

  • I know, it's just to protect the camera inner lenses when the wide angle lens is not being used.

  • you dont need a uv lens
