  • LOL this is the most ironic thing I've seen in years. Man, I love this woman. In this video she's basically slapping the pope, the church and all the believers right in the face while they all bow in front of her and appalude her. XD SHE is BABA!

  • hell yea baby girl... kill it

  • i absolutly LOVE this song

    A.M. <3

    theeee bestttt!

  • to the pope really? did anyone else sang to him too? what festival was this?

  • why does the pope never appears in the clip? was he angry? because of the message of the song?

  • probably. Could you imagine if she did "Forgiven" LOL

  • absolutly awesome ! I love ALANIS !

  • It's not about India. Baba means father in many languages, and it's quite obvious she's using it in that sense. Nor is it solely about Catholicism or Hinduism. The song is about organized religions that use people for their own benefit, greedy religious leaders who watch as people bow at their feet and pay them for a promised salvation they never actually receive. Performing this for the POPE, of all people, was either very brave or very stupid. Either way I admire her for it.

  • The live version is nice. Beautiful song, with a message for all of us (including the religious - myself included). Follow your beliefs because you believe in them, not because someone tells you to. -

  • This is about Sai Baba in India, kids.

  • Maybe instead of being about Catholicism, it's about organized religion in general...

It's still a great song either way!!!

  • How wonderful.

I love it when she opens her mouth so wide. :)

    She is a fascinating person.

    Her songs tell the truth.

  • This song isn't about Catholicism, Catholics do not chant to the Hindu goddess Kali. The only "Catholic" reference is the end "Ave Maria", which I love.

  • Amazing!!!!!!!!!! Alanis Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thia aong could of been written from the popes point of view, listen... am i right in a sense?

  • This song is for BABA but Pope listen carefully =)

  • fuckin balls

  • CANCION DE MI VIDA

  • ...And I love you still...

  • i can´t believe she performed for the pope, when in one track from his firs album she makes a strong critic to the catholic church...

  • wot track wos tht?

  • fountain, on jagged little pill

  • forgiven

  • I don't think so. She isn't criticizing the Catholic Church at all...

  • i think she is criticizing hypocrisy

  • maybe thats why she's playing Baba this time, a song about organized religion and how people blindly follow it

  • amazing performance

  • She forgot the Canadian Roots.
