I was looking at some GDP charts of the US at the time of the FED's inception and it turns out it rose ridiculously right after the FED was formed. I suppose it was due to the inflation of the money supply, but then I checked the poverty levels. They shrunk by more than 48% within 6 years of the FED's beginnings. Unemployment also dropped by about 50% in the same time. After seeing those stats I am on the fence about the FED. Would we be as strong as we've become without it?

The reason GDP, poverty, and unemployment looked great was because the banks were investing heavily with "the US's money" and earning interest on that invested money. The productivity and innovation from that money spun great returns to the banks and debt to the nation over time, but now with time the banks own most everything.

The banks are not all domestically owned either, JP Morgan is owned by Europeon interests and rumoured to be mostly owned by the Rothschilds.

The banks of today have exploited the market and their ownership position and their influence on interest rates to keep interest low for themselves, but high rates for most others on teaser rates thus the market has dropped and now they swoop in for the kill and buy up the good assets that bankrupt.
