  • @Damienke Those aren't the original lyrics, that is the rewrite by Jacob the original lyrics are about the condition of the world, well at least the second verse is...

  • WOW ILLUMINATION CHANNEL

  • if they ever discover a version sung by bela lugosi r.i.p. i'd be thrilled.

  • Stop talking and go kill yourself..... I didnt click on this to get a lesson....

  • Then get the movie out on DVD - second thoughts, don't. It has dialogue between characters which will be above your understanding. Like this clip from the Science Channel. sheesh.

  • start from 0:01 ..Illuminati?

  • to the guy who commenting the video: SHUT THE FUCK UP! I WANT TO HEAR THE SONG, NOT YOUR FUCKING BLABLA!

  • @Todqual

ha ha ha ha what a n00b you are. This clip is part of a documentary. idiot. there are many examples of the original and variations all over youtube - so stop being lazy.

  • @BETA145 i only wanted to hear the song, not this shitty talking! and in the title doesnt stand "documentary" or something!

  • This song is so awesome I had to make my own version!

  • why is the ten ways logo is the all seeing eye ?

  • And that's how the Emo trend was invented.

  • i didn't understand this song

  • So, what's your favourite version of this song? Mine is the one by Diamanda Galas (watch?v=KzWVWY5QUzg).

  • I think the tales of suicides and the BBC banning the song are greatly exaggerated.

  • Gloomy Sunday with a hundred white flowers

I was waiting for you my dearest with a prayer

A Sunday morning, chasing after my dreams

The carriage of my sorrow returned to me without you

It is since then that my Sundays have been forever sad

Tears my only drink, the sorrow my bread...

    Gloomy Sunday

  • Hi, im hungarian and the english lyrics totally different then the original.

This last Sunday, my darling please come to me

    There'll be a priest, a coffin, a catafalque and a winding-sheet

There'll be flowers for you, flowers and a coffin

Under the blossoming trees it will be my last journey

My eyes will be open, so that I could see you for a last time

Don't be afraid of my eyes, I'm blessing you even in my death...

    The last Sunday

  • this woman creeps me out

  • @viceroy457 hahaha yeah so while i play this video i scroll down reading comments

  • i really want to kill my self

  • i love songs like this. they bring me out of my depressions :)

  • He makes a mistake at 2:29...the explanation of the song can be confusing at that part for someone that doesn't know the song

  • what I don't get about this song is that the English version is so far removed from the original lyrics they are two different songs with the same tune.

  • If JUSTIN BIEBER would hear this, I bet he'l commit a suicide.. xD

  • @05raf MUST. SEND. HIM. THIS. SONG.

  • AYAW LAGE PA DALA sa TAMAH MGA PARE! =]

    heheh...

    Kanta ra nah! nyahahah! =))

  • "OK the lyrics are a bit bleak, but so are The Smiths!"

    LOL!!! XD

  • @panasonicyouth1985 Who are the Smiths?

  • @KevlarNinja

The Smiths were an 80s New Wave band which had Morrisey on vocals. Even though they were one of the most influential bands of the past few decades, their music was somewhat depressing at times. Check out the tunes 'How Soon Is Now', and 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out'

  • @panasonicyouth1985 I would, but I HATE depressing music.

  • @KevlarNinja Looks like you understood the main thing...

  • (Cough)EMO!(Cough)

  • @KevlarNinja

    Idiot... Emo...

Not everything is emo what is sad... You going to understand when you more than 13.....

  • @sollap2 Aww... I'm 13, and I'm past that stage. :\

  • @ohaiImSara OK, OK. Let's quit well were still aloud on Youtube.

  • @sollap2 YOU FAIL, 'CAUSE I'M 14! HA-HA!

  • nothing but an urban legend

  • I can't get it, how to get you happy and stuff?..when i lisen to this song, and when and i get concentrated on lyrics and on the violin and bla bla, i can't help myself from crying, and i really don't cry often or easily..But i feel those lyrics really inside of my bones.i kind of know what is he talking about, btw sorry for english, it's kind of late and i'm kind of lazy to check it :3

  • So if you play it backwards does that make it happy;)

  • i love this song its my favorite by the way im not an emo...

  • this isnt depressing indeed only the ORIGINAL version!!!!!!

  • Thank you for sharing your analisis on this ...my husband hung himself 5 yrs ago and left a CD with this song on it.And when I listen to it I want nt to join him ...but that is not my fate...I wont let it go round and round... I found him at 604 pm on a very cold windy SUNDAY in march....Ive listened to this song many times over in my struggle to comprehend him leaving ..I became very ill mentally but am becoming now stronger than I have ever been :D

  • @CrazyAssMonkey1

Dylan, your husband hung himself when you were 13?

Interesting, I didn't know gay marriage with minors was ok in Canada.

I guess being a "crazy ass monkey" can help though, in overcoming his loss, but also in finding a husband as a 13 year-old boy.

Best of strength to you and give my regards over there in the world of warcraft.

  • @zoetvanham cough my mom wrote that sorry

  • @CrazyAssMonkey1

in that case, advise her to get her own account?

  • seriously.. this is all lies.. Rezső wrote the song but László Jávor. It was banned, then Billie Holiday made it a hit in '41 and its from there that it all went off on one. Yes the song structure is bleak, and yes the lyrics give a sense of worthlesness, but still. This is a great song and i have no doubt that it has infact pushed a few over the edge. but these facts in this video are wrong..

  • wonderfully analysed!

  • Just a myth, idiots.

  • @Theodorkable Not a myth. It's a psychological issue if you ask me. It's a more saddening song than others, so people feel worthless if their depressed, and the song takes them over the edge.

  • When im sad I go to church, watching people do stupid things makes me laugh. Then I get sad becouse all hope for humanity is lost in a bronze age myth Q_Q

  • (and second verse)

On the last Sunday, my love, come:

There will be priest, coffin, catafalque and hearse-choth.

Flowers will wait for you, flowers and the coffin,

Under the blossoming trees, this road will be my last one.

My eyes will be opened, so I could see you for the last time:

Don't be afraid: I will bless you even then.

    On the last Sunday...

(sorry, it sounds a bit messy like this, but in Hungarian it's really depressing...)

  • A self-made translation of the Hungarian text (sorry, I can't make it rhyme):

Gloomy Sunday with 100 white flowers,

I was waiting for you, my darling, with hopeful prayers.

    But on dream-chasing Sunday

The carriage of my sorrow came back without you.

Since then, Sundays are always gloomy,

My tears are my cup, my bread is the sorrow.

    Gloomy Sunday

  • i would like to play this song with that girl :D this song is beautifull.. no room for suicide.. it chills u. goes well with a cig and a glass of wine

  • I listen to the caramell dansen after :P xD

    You get happy =D

  • Comment removed

  • stupid

  • I've listen to it some times and actually cause I love despair I'm getting happier almost euphoric.

  • Yes, it's giving energy, but when somebody has drowned himself into thoughts about suicide, that energy can be directed to get courage for it. The words are encouraging for self-destruction, and so is the melody. You can hear it very well in the original. watch?v=tWpMkWeGxWw

  • @livedandletdie oh man tell me about it ...

  • Gloomy sunday... the song doessn't seem depressing to me, when I'm feeling depressed I listen to the song and it has a cathartic effect on me. (^-^) oh well...

    @>--;--

  • @Vegielala If you understand the origional lyrchs are indeed depressing. Well evryones els but it will indeed its strange people get happy from hearing a song of a funeral.

  • @Xelos9 I do understand the original lyrics, it's kind of like a reverse phsycology effect on me.

  • @Vegielala maybe try listening to a real version not some reworked commercial interpretation moron. Goddamn, why do you expect to be amused it's a song not a fucking circus act

  • @metyuewb I've listened to many different versions of the song. I didn't say I expected to be amused, I merely said that the song was able to lift me out of the depressive state that I was in at the time.

  • i watch the show when ever its on thanks for posting it

    p.s im in your house
