you have to realize that oil plays a part in everything, plastics, tires, food, power, literally has a part in millions of products and sevices we depend on everyday. the world consumes roughly around 85 million barells a day. with more economies becoming more industrialized, this number will go up. Oh and there is nothing to repalace it!!!! nothing! alternative energies are shit, they will only compensate for about 10 percent of what oil gives us. get ready for the collapse.
@Aleque haha, you don't get it. you realize that electric cars, are made by oil!! therefore, WHEN we run out, it will not be possible to build them. get it???
@235RB sure but running out is innevitable eventually, so what is more proactive? : to sit and whine about that "there is no alternative", or actually attempt to invent/discover new materials, which I think is more than possible, considering our advancement in science today.
@Aleque I realise that, my point is that it better happen FAST. the problem is that there have been many attempts and discoveries for alternative energy, and none of them work as well as oil does. Lets just hope there is something out there that can be harnessed as well as oil, if not, things wil change forever.
@harryGShunt and asians colonised your ass your bitch... you insulted your selfe your contradictory fagot. your a primate too.
p.s your welcome for taking the heat in world war one and two. my grandpa is waiting for his thank you while your mal trained ancestors roll in graves six feet under.
well, the mistake of early oil peak promoters and current day deniers is that peak oil has to mean there wont be more oil relatively soon after the peak hits.
Currently day deniers then say its all fake because of a misunderstanding decades ago.
Peak oil does mean production will either slow down or become economically unviable, becoming so expensive because of having to drill deaper, further out to sea, or from difficult sources like shale.
But there is an enormous amounts of oil in the world, and we find new tech to get more. The mistake of early peak promoters is not envisioning the tech that allows us to drill deeper and find new ways of getting oil.
Also, oil peaks in some areas, not all areas at once. So peak will matter to some countries before other countries.
Right now, in many traditional oil places in america, oil has peaked already and the fed subsidies to oil comps are to find that more expensive oil.
Thats why oil companies finally want to open up more then just the alaska reserve
Well, by now I think reserve is about more then oil for the repubs by now since there isnt much oil there relative to other places, its very expensive to get and only at certain times of the year, and there are lands in the forty eight states that the gov are willing to sell or lease to the oil companies that have oil
Oil wont be main fixture in twenty years so it wont be all bad. Not main in vehicles anyway

@Aleque not this time, you obviously know little about this subject. If you did, using the word good to describe this subject would NOT happen.

It scares me to see how many who trade oil are still misinformed or not informed at all.
I would have thought that you want to know a lot about the basis for you job, but no.

You should know that businessmen, most anyway, tend to prefer short term profits over long term sustainability.
