can somebody help me? I did all of this correctly, but when i play my animation, there's no sound at all. It's on AVI Codec and blender 2.58. In the preview, the sound is there, but after i tell it to animate the entire strip, there's no audio playing on the video
Thanks. This makes it possible to do video editing better than I did last time a few years ago with a lot of difficulties. At this moment Windows is for me not an option anymore, so I have to choose for an open source editor. Blender is good, and some good video's about using it, is really useful.
I know it is possible to make good title screens with Blender. :-)

space robbing glossy shiny buttons and everything is big as hell.
in 2.49 i never needed to scroll, alot of functions are missing, shortkeys are bugged or missing, argh 2.49 is so much better,i dont want this cheap interface -.-
Remember that this is alpha. It is not beta, RC or final in any way. I have seen large debates on the dev list about how to improve the UI. It is a work in progress. The keys can all be remapped in 2.5. I also think (?) that they want to make the whole program skin-able.
Hi! Great video! Short but straight to the point. Hey, It looks like you work on a Mac, am I right? Because I'm very interested in the "little thing" that displays the keys you are pressing! Is that only for Mac?

this sequence editor sucks
you have to use editing software
or else you will be done rendering 6 months after you are done with it

@MrDrPlatapus Did you choose an audio codec? For some reason, blender defaults to no audio. I usually go with mp3.

My problem is I can't get sound to work with the editor. (I did exactly what you said)
What good is a video editor if you can't hear anything? I've tried this in Windows and linux and neither work!

Nice, man. I'm loving 2.5! I'm surprised just how cool Blender's built-in NLE is.

The little thingy is called Key-mon. My system is Kubuntu 10.04 but a bit custom.
Take a look at this.
