  • What rocks and dirt make steel? If it is just rocks, why are we "building" up other countries (Media and Professional Sources ) as having the most steel. Rocks are everywhere on Earth. Is that the reason for why we see so many metals around us today? Or does it take a special type of rock to make special metals.

  • @heartlessvietboy Iron Ore is what comes out of the ground and is the main ingredient in steel. After meltiing in a balst furnace it is further refined to make steel.

  • One of many great songs from Tom Russell. He is not very well known here n the UK,which is a shame .A major talent.

  • WHEMCO in West Homestead is one of the biggest things in Allegheny County now.

  • Great song and video! I still live here in Homestead and remember when the mills were going strong. it's just what guy's did after high school; get a job in the Homestead Works, make a good living and build a family of their own. It was hard, but stable work with great pay. Unfortunatley the mill closed right before my generation got out of school, so we didn't have that chance. We did, however all party at Hess's bar and had great times, but is no longer there either.

  • My dad worked for U S Steel in Birmingham, AL. I REALLY relate to this video
