@chernobyl59 I actually used clips from a speed-run of the game that I downloaded (speeddemosarchive . com). It was just a matter of mashing them up in Windows Movie Maker. There are some hardware devices that let you digitally record from your TV screen, but I currently lack the funds and motivation to get one myself.

That game definitely had an atmosphere of its own when it was still new. Everything is bleak and eerie, even in the earlier parts. And, unlike in sequel games, you're absolutely alone for the entire duration of the game. Every form of life you encounter is hostile - any potential allies have already been long been killed off.

It all depends on which version of the game you own. In the very first version of the game, the music in the Fire Temple was different, and the blood was red. People complained about the Fire Temple's music( apparently it sounded too much like chanting from a religion or something ), and they changed it in their next shipment of the games.

I remember I was so scared while playing Zelda (both Oot and MM)...

While playing OoT i was afraid of those skeletons that appear on Hyrule Fields at night and MM, the first time I played I didn't know what to do and when those three days ended and the moon felt I turned off my N64 with my heart beating as hell...

I only played MM again 5 years later... XD

This is just my opinion, As much as we love OoT.

Took me seven years to beat it since I start playing it when I was like 7 years old, I finished it when I was 14, Now I'm 17.

I started playing again, And it wasn't as great as the first time, I prefer Majoras Mask over Ocarina, Majoras mask had touching moments that Ocarina didn't have. Majoras mask is the best side quest videogame ever.

It took me a while to get started on it because I was horrified of the redeads. You say you started it when you were 7? Then finished when you were 14? Isn't that the ages of Link in the game too? xD

I love MM as well - while I think OoT is King of the Zelda games I personally prefer MM over it. The masks were so much fun! :D

I agree the MM was- and is- an awesome game, but i still feel that OOT is the true masterpiece. The storyline is always what made this decision for me. A movie version would have got an oscar for it. I just felt that the added pressure of the three days took a little bit away from MM's storytelling. (P.S.- i have put 5+ years into trying to write a screenplay out of OOT, attempting desperately to perfect it so if anything comes of it, the movie(s) will be nothing but perfection.)

I have to disagree with a movie for OoT. There is not enough major story elements. Not to mention Link never speaks therefore there would be no connection with the hero. I hope they never make a Zelda movie. Also MM was in my opinion better because it differed from your typical Zelda, or any adventure game. It went into the pains and sufferings of the world in many different ways, and Link took those sufferings upon himself through the masks and lifted them. Its a heart felt compelling story.

I agree with your opinions on MM, but i guess what makes OOT the best for me is cuz it was the first game i ever completed, so it holds special meaning with me. I know that OOT as is wouldnt make a compelling movie, thats why ive chose to tweak the story a bit. Not enough to ruin it, but enough to make it more appealing on screen. but it has been difficult... perhaps a completely original screenplay based off the games.... (oh, this is FattyNinjitsu's new account, btw)

Wow! I love this - its going on my faves list! There were some parts that looked a little sloppy but its perfectly fine because it says this was an earlier MV and I can imagine there weren't too many clips to chose from.
