my cousin owns a 1988 turbo supra and the only place u can hear the turbo is inside the car. the car is completely stock. im not going to lie but its quick.
my prelude is daily driven bone stock and slow as shit but in very good shape but the supra on the other hand is only out in the summer and has a few things done to it but its so much faster its no contest...
@BurninSnowMan What we were saying is...mkIIIsupras raced a b20 prelude same engine as you most likely have. I have a h22a prelude, totally different car. This race is how it works when the prelude has i/h/e and the supras stock
@mkIIIsupras I own a 1995 lude with a jdm h22a i/e/chipped ecu...It runs a 14.6 and traps 96-97mph. I also own a 88 turbo targa 5 speed mk3. When the supra was stock, the best time I could run was a 15.1 at 91.5. I now have 3 inch exhaust turbo back and a manual boost controller on the supra. The supra will win on the highway, no doubt. I haven't lined the cars up yet but I will soon. I think the lude will win until about 100.
@tommyistommy i know for a fact the supra will win with just them two mods. U can get around 80 bhp from a divorced downpipe, exhaust, boost controller, and intake. U can easily push 400 hp and even more torque with stock turbo. Im not hating on the lude. they are my favorite honda. but i just cant have fun with fwd and lack of torque. It would be a great car if they were rwd. They look like they should be rwd. let me know when u line them up how the outcome is.
@mkIIIsupras No doubt. The supra bone stock was a dog though. I'm still on the stock hg (torqued down correctly however) so I'm not going to boost it much higher than 11-12psi. The lude actually has a lot of torque, more than any other 4 cyl honda. 163ft lbs stock. And its got an almost flat torque curve. The supra is way more fun and definitely a lot faster, but out of the hole....idk its going to be really interesting. The supras hard to launch with its weight and turbo lag
@tommyistommy supra is at a disadvantage with the weight, but has the advantage in every other aspect. I've got a n/a supra with intake and exhaust so far. Ive beat one prelude with a bone stock h22a from a dig and all. This was with my old supra which was automatic. Im going for a high compression 7mge and looking to put out around 220-230 whp.i know whats the point right? One word. TORQUE! And im having a hard time finding a good turbo supra near me. everyone wants them now!!
@mkIIIsupras uhm the prelude you raced wasn't racing. Honestly. A h22a puts down more hp than most 7mgTe's, so your n/a supra doesn't have a prayer against a h22a lude. Especially an auto lol. They run high 14's. A n/a supra runs what, low 16's if its a 5 speed? I don't even want to know what an auto mk3 n/a runs. It did take a while to find a turbo mk3, mine didn't run when I got it, I had to redo the entire fuel system. a 7mge doesn't really have any torque lol
@tommyistommy i was wrong it was the older model prelude with a b20 non vtec haha. It was still fun when i was 17. They dont feel like the have power because they are so heavy. They actually get up and move for their time. Ive owned both auto and 5 speed supra and the auto was definitly the faster car all around. Im thinking its time for a 1uz though. Much cheaper and much stronger. rather easy swap its seems also.later
@mkIIIsupras lol im not entirely sure what u guys are sayin its late an i been up all day but are u saying that prelude is not a 93 with a h22a that its and older b20? and the supra is not turbo?? if so in my opinion theres not much way to tell you kinda just have to judge by what whoever posted it says well kinda anyways you can t hear the whistle of the turbo but then again its not very loud on the supra unless u get a bov but also the audio isnt the greatest and i have a mk3 and a 91 prelude>
nvm about my last post. that is DEFF an NA MKIII supra

That is NOT a turbo supra. It sounds like an NA.

@jxyooj339 Just because it doesn't sound like it has a BOV doesn't mean its not turbo.

@MDC33147 There is a HUGE difference in sound when it comes to NA/Turbo. Ask anyone in the Toyota Supra Community and they will tell you the same.

@jxyooj339 You might be right. Oh well.

@jxyooj339 sorry but thats n/a for sure. i did the same race and had about the same outcome. a turbo supra would have left it.
