  • Try running this mixture during winter in Wisconsin......Not happening!

  • @imp818 Nope! It's hard enough in our "bitter cold" winters here in south Georgia. we have actually had freezing temperatures for an hour or two this year!

  • How cold does it get there? I'm in Scotland..Got an 89 nissan d21 pickup

  • I just bought the Diesel Secret Energy mainly because I didn't know all the ratios and filter set ups. I assuming the Sta-bil is basically the same thing though? I'll probly switch to that after I gett up and running.

  • @mtkr717 Yep, same thing I did.. I am having problems with the injection pump now, but after 70,000 miles of no problems. I'll post videos of the inside of the injection pump when i get around to taking it off.

  • Great video, thanks for making it, how is the car doing now?

  • what happened to that speaker on the big blue barrell?

  • @SpeakerFreak95 haha!! I should have guessed you would see that! It was an 8 inch sub that the cone ripped around the voice-coil, and then sat in the rain for a few months. I was going to use it for a magnet to keep any metal shavings while drilling from getting in the fuel.

  • @jrcstudios lol cool

  • nice!!

  • I had this same car about a year ago. Funnest car I've driven since the last 6 cars I've owned. I ran it on red dye, filtered motor oil, and many additives. 42mpg @55mph.

  • I have a Vauxhall/Opel Corsa, also called Chevrolet Corsa, Holden SB Barina, and Opel Vita. With, you guessed it! An Isuzu deisel engine, apparently made in Poland! As a 1999 car my research seems to say it's ok on WVO/SVO, and I've already done at least 1200 miles on biodeisel, but it's hard to find in the U of K. So I'm going veg this week. Even off the shelf it's cheaper than pump.

Have to go 50/50 with pump to begin with as the weather is getting colder.

    B-)

  • Could you not run it on 90% WVO and 10% pump diesel?

  • would be more like 20%, but yes. (kero is thinner, doesn't take as much to thin the oil)

  • In about 80,000 miles your injection pump is possibly going to die and your injectors will be clogged and need replacing. I bet your fuel filter gets eaten alive from the cold oil too. Mixing diesel with veggie (aka: diesel secret) is not good in the long run. Works now, will kill your million mile engine much sooner than you think.

  • In 80,000 miles I'll be tired of this car anyway.

For now, the count is more like 60,000 or so. I change the fuel filter at oil change time weather it needs it or not.

  • @Dudanation12 how do you know that

  • Hey I used to have one of these, They were called the Holden Gemini in Australia.

Always wondered why the rocker cover said Isuzu.

  • where do you get that veggie oil

  • "Bird's Aphrodisiac Oyster Shack" - Tallahassee, Florida

  • right on i watched this once b4 !! and hell ya still cleaner then straight up gas or diesel!

  • Biodiesel is not veggie oil!!!

Making those additives you put into your WVO, cost more rainforrest than running on normal diesel!

That's why 'fancy heater shit' is nescessary, to run without those bad additives from the chemical industries..

  • I never said it was Biodiesel.

This has nothing to do with killing rainforests.

Check your facts, buddy! I'm still "greener" than running any type of Petroleum straight!

  • you have to see what the billions left in mystery have seen. Then you can see the colour of the beige car. What colour do you see?

  • I've run without the sta-bil, I mainly use it for hopefully less stickiness since it helps prevent gumming. (my fuel cap has been nearly glued on before)

  • I asked earlier but you obviosly could not see what I asked what colour is your beige car

  • I checked out the Sta-Bil and Diesel Kleen additives at Autozone... I can understand the need for the Diesel Kleen (Cetane Boost, cleaning injectors, et. al), but why do you use the Sta-Bil stuff? I can't see a need for it unless you're storing the veggie oil/kerosene mix for long periods of time...

Do you find the Sta-Bil additive is necessary and/or helpful?

    Thanks,

    Simon

  • is the white car white

    you leave billions in mystery

  • white cars are indeed white, but my car is a beige color.

  • oh what colour is you beige car

  • what colour is your beige car

  • Hi JCR

    Neat video.

Though maybe cheaper and cleaner to mix with methanol and caustic soda maybe not maybe the same,

The hose problem is not immeadiate and there are hoses that handle the sharp flow.

Your way seems good to and why change if result satisfies? I wish their was a backyard machine small enough to extract the oil from garden and household waste.

    Cheers

  • Hey Man,

What is the speaker for on top of the 50 gal drum? Does it catch any metal particals in the mix?:) I seen you eatin out the other day but I didn't get a change to speak. I like the car. Can you make my 2001 Honda do that????

  • lol the fuel settles quicker when a mix of R&B and oldschool rap is played nearby... Remember those speakers with the huge crazy mid-horns I bought from American Pawn a few years ago? well this is one of the blown mids!

  • you can try holding a rag soaked in gasoline loosely over the intake while someone else cranks the engine. Once it gets running, remove the rag immediately. Don't do this too much, its not that good for the engine. Also make sure you hold on tight to the rag! and don't try it by yourself, if it sucks the rag in the engine, you will have a problem!! Once you get it running, add diesel or kereo to the tank and drive it for at least a mile.

  • hey jrc , thanks to you my 82 imark is still running, i got the little car restarted with your info thanks alot!! i was wondering what is your final micron filter rating for your fuel prior to pumping it into your car

  • hey i filled my tank with filtered oil but forgot to mix kero and stabil , the car ran great for a couple of days with no problem at all,the third day the car would not start what can i do? it also an 82 imark

  • great vid, I use a 4 filter system, 30 micron down to .5, and use stabil mixed with mineral spirts and gas and kero. same ratio as yours,

however we get a large diesel filter and wrap a copper tubing and allow the heated engine water to pre heat the wvo so that it burns better.

also get a water element separator for final filtering to speed up usage. for 20.00 at any autoparts store. 5.00 a gal for diesel what a joke.

  • John, this is great...can I come to your place with some green friends to see it first hand. sid

  • Sure.. I wold love to get a local co-op together to share ideas.

  • He doesnt use diesel to start the car. Watch the movie again.

  • I believe wilfredem was referring to crosisborg's comment on a two-tank system, not mine. You tube seems to be getting comments out of order these days.. causing confusion.. anyone else notice this?

  • i love it

  • what kind of filter do you drain in through before you put it in the 55 gallon drum

  • just a strainer to get out the big chuncks

  • it is part of my 12 volt pump I use

  • So have you have any problems with either your fuel pump or injectors over the miles? (one of the cautions they have on the bio-diesel sites is that water left in the oil will corrode them.)

  • 31,000+ miles, no problems yet! I let the oil settle for a week before using it, and drain water and fat (milky oil) off the bottom. That must be what is saving me trouble with water.

  • i think this a good way to lower gass prices

  • That's the point... you don't need a two tank system, provided you use the kerosene... that keeps the veggie oil from gelling in the lines. (brilliant, BTW...) Does the kerosene have any adverse effects on the injectors? Did you have to change the fuel lines out from something other than natural rubber? (VO eats natural rubber, I hear.)

  • true "Biodiesel" is a solvent and eats rubber hoses. Since I am not refining the WVO, I don't have to change rubber hoses.

  • nice

  • Unless kerosene and sta-bil is free, the dual system is better since its paid for in less than 1 year and the oil is 100% free.

  • you have to define "paid for in one year" .. compared to $4 a gallon diesel, yes. Compared to the $0.70 a gallon mixture I make, it might take more than a year to pay for itself.

  • Why did you use a "home water filter" before filling up the tank?

  • It is a cheap way to filter down to less than 4 microns.

  • Wow, thanks.

Had no idea a home water filter would hold up to kerosene and fuel additives.

How often you change all filters, can and your veg rig? Thank again so much!

  • The filters usually last around 200 gallons depending on how dirty the WVO is and how long I let it settle (so all the crumbs go to the bottom of the tank)

  • just came across this. we purchased an 82 imark w/ the thought of gonig bio... and im sitting here shocked to see it running w/o all the conversions. so how much would you say a gallon of gas is... and what kind of mileage do you get. thankyou for your post!

  • The car gets 48 MPG on diesel and 42 MPG on my fuel mix. I am making a video to show 0-60 miles per hour performance on each. My fuel mix ends up costing less than $1 per gallon. Post a video of your I-mark!

  • I have a 40' bus that I run on Straight Veggie Oil. No mixing of cerosine or diesel either. I use 1000 watt heater and an auxalary fuel pump to heat up the veggie even before I start the engine. I have successfully started my engine as low as 40f.

    With very little white smoke.

I beleive it would work all the way down to 0f.

But I havn't had a chance to try it yet.

Mornings are getting warmer here in the San Francisco bay area.

  • very good and thanks for sharing this .maybe I'll try to do that too i don't know iam so poor in mechanics.

  • izusu / diahatsu engines are the busniess

  • Thats the 4FB1 engine they used in the Chevettes and its a great engine. Hats off to a fellow diesel head!

  • I have a 1982 isuzu i mark coupe, diesel got some wvo, and about to try the same thing. THX ron.

  • Great info, thanks for posting this.

  • i love this example video

  • Thanks for sharing you methods... This has been a marketing scam for others! Please recommend, that "Diesel Secret" isn't safe, until they supply more 'concrete' evidence on their own testing grounds. I have inquired about their (Diesel Secret) methods and they removed me from 'Comments'. Thanks Again!

  • I posted a comment at the diesel secret vid warning others to do their research and my post never made it. It was sent "for approval". Wtf is this? Is youtube now censoring what one posts in favor of industry? Are they not going to act like censorship police in order to make money on commercial videos? If so, I'll be done with youtube. Anyone knows more about this?

  • any youtube user can set their profile so that they can approve comments before they get posted. It's the user (DieselSecret), not youtube, doing the censoring

  • Just for fun, I commented to, and also sent a video responce. I'm sure it will be denied, but at least the owner will know some people are on to them!

  • I tried to post also. My post did not show up either.... must have offended someone. I suppose my comment did not jive with their mission.

  • Diesel Secret is basically the same stuff that this guy is mixing in w/ his oil. It's made from a mixture of diesel conditioner, injector cleaner and kerosene. The only problem with it is that if you run DS in a vehicle that's been running straight diesel for most of its life then the cleaners in DS will knock all of the parafin build up out of the lines and clog up your fuel fiter at first. Nothing a fresh fuel filter can't fix.

  • any other issues with the DS additive. I am running new fords. 6.0 and 6.4 motors. They say it works fine. I am on youtube tring to find other users before I put in my trucks. I must have truck to pull trailers or I would buy a crappy old car to commute around. I have no problem replacing fuel filters.

  • Instead of adding kerosene, you can just add turpentine. Turpentine has a very high cetane value, and helps make the WVO less viscous. About one ounce to five gallons when it's warm, maybe two ounces when it's cold. It's a better cetane booster than commercially sold, oil derrived cetane boosters. Kero may still be nessecary to make it thin enough for your injectors to like it, though.

  • Really?!? You can bet I will be researching that..

  • It goes to show you that Isuzu CAN make a better diesel engine.

  • It does help Isuzu know how to make a really good diesel engine, nice video.

I personally think the twin tanks system's are better for the electronically controlled engines due to the higher injector pressures and viscosity problems you can have with VO

  • Forget what the over engineering biodiesel purists think: Vegatable oil is diesel fuel and it's bio = biodiesel. I loved this video!

  • Nice simple setup, thanks for tip about mechanical injected engines.

Do you have a website with more info or are you going to do some more videos ?
