I'd forgotten all about this one........then again I went to Wigan between 1974 & 1977 and can't remember being there that often.......the naughty things we did as teenagers ;-)
This sound embodies the atmosphere of Wigan to me, I can almost feel the floor bouncing as everyone danced to the stomping beat.... So many people totally in rhythm classic!
Thanks for uploading this kicking, tune... backdrop, splits, clap... thinking it could flow right into Rat Race by Righteous Bros. keep evryone sweating.... :-)
mouths gone dry findin it hard to swallow, breakin out in a sweat then a track like this comes on and thats it for the next 8 hours cant get of the dance floor, thank god im of to a all dayer i dont want to go home,
"Sidra's Theme" was first played by Ian Levine in late 1973, covered up as "The End Of The World by the Explosions". I remember hearing him play it at Wigan at the time.
This track is actually called Sidras Theme. It's on George McGregor's Sidra label. The vocal is called As Long As You Love Me and is on the same label by Ronnie and Robyn. Two white guys out of Detroit. Great old stomper!
