  • we played this in marching band!

    XD

    good times...

  • the trumpets really screwed up the first set of straight eighths.

  • im learning how to play this on trumpet

  • 0:18 hurts.

    2:28 makes me cry.

No drums at 3:09, blargh! That's one of the best parts of the song, BA BA-DUM!

The end buildup was good until the G.

And the ending is dissappointing. That Bb -> D chromatic ending was my part last spring. Ah the good times.

    (I'm a trumpeter if you couldn't tell)

I give a hearty good job to all but the trumpeters and the drummer, although he did keep the beat.

Try to persuade your teacher to do that song again in a couple years.

  • Yea this was our first time performing this its gotten better from then

  • I'd like to see a new video if possible :)

  • my middle school plays this song but our trumpets are way better

  • #1 - no, your school doesn't. At least not that version. And if you do, you have an irresponsible director because that version )(the original) is WAY too hard for middle school.

#2 - If you're in middle school, you hardly know what you're talking about

and #3 - If that IS true, post a video of it. Otherwise, it isn't true, and you're just spouting off at the mouth. Nice job on the tune guys.

  • #1 yea our school does play it, and the real version. How is having a great band and if we're capable of playing that good how is it 'irresponsible?' Our band plays way better than most high school bands.

#2 So what if I'm in middle school, I know enough to know when someone sounds good or doesn't.

#3 We just had our holiday concert but next time I do have the chance to record it i will.

  • #1 - No, you don't. I've never heard a middle school jazz band who can play the original. And I've heard WAY more than you have at your age.

It's irresponsible, because middle school brass players shouldn't be playing that high. Their embrochures aren't developed enough yet.

#2 - But not enough to know what your group sounds like. Sounds different when you're in it, live, than it does on recordings.

    #3 - I doubt it.

  • All that being said, yeah, the trumpets kinda suck it up on this one.

  • yeah brassmastah-

Our middle school band was the number 1 m/s band in texas a couple years ago and our beginer band beat alot of highschool bands at contest. we play in the mood, the real version. we were able to play it in one week during summer band.

  • So about me not knowing these video's existed...

  • SHUT THE HELL UP NEJIattack. You don't deserve to talk here

  • the saxes are really loud around 1:45-2:00

  • we played this song in our middle school band

  • holy crap my school band is better you have crappy trumpets

  • yea this isnt our best performance

but also a majority of our players are freshman
