I know you said when you were showing the head tracker that its not so jerky when its actually on your head but it seems that you really have to tilt your head a LOT just to get a decent downward vide. I'm not criticizing here, but I is it possible to calibrate the sensitivity so that only minor movements on the tracker will produce appropriate movements on the servos?
@thestrugglewithin Yes ther e is a full calibration setup for the headtracker. Its a little confusing the first time you program the head tracker but its fairly simple to do. There is a link on the hobbywireless website that takes you to a video that walks you thru the calibration. Thanks for watching
Hi, Five Stars Mr. Banne! I have received my Easy Stars and I am beginning flight tests following your videos. Soon I will upload them. Thanks for sharing your knowledge..
Oh I agree. I'm hoping to get my nephew to fly an easystar both regular flight and FPV this summer. He's 5 years old and can do it on the simulators no prob. I haven't let him fly one of the planes yet.
hey mate got a question for you, regarding my setup. If youre ultimately jsut looking for longest possible range, in an OPEN area, without any obstruction between yourself and the pilot, does 2.4ghz win out or typical 36, 72 mhz FM transmitters, in regard to longest possible range. I know if youre flying between buildings tree's etc then you want to go with FM, but i just want ot know if youre going to do it without any obstruciton between you and the [plane. TY
My experience so far is that 72mhz is the best for obstructed areas. I still use 2.4ghz simply because I haven't had any interference yet. My range in an open area is about a mile with a stock 2.4ghz futaba FAST radio
that is a sweet setup bruv :) 5* im having probs getting my weights right with the FPV gear so had to remove it all till i can figure out where i am going wrong :(
This is what I did to adjust for the CG... I went to the local fishing outlet store and got a small bag of Lead fishing sinkers. Pound them flat with a hammer and then add the lead weight to the front or back of the plane as needed. Should get you in the air!
Hmm, 3s 800mah/video, 3s 2200/motor/receiver, have tried on my PZ Trojan...same issue. I assume the corsair and trojan have a very similar motor esc setup.
That equipment is awesome.... way cool!! I'm going to keep this video as one of my favorites. After a little more flight time and experience I hope to add this stuff my jets. Good information on this video to.
That's a really cool video explaining your gear.. just what I wanted to see :D 5*
A friend and I have been talking about how to pan / tilt the cam on 7 channel radio (either Futaba or the Spektrum DX7 - we haven't bought the kit yet), i think we may be borrowing some of your great ideas!
How do you power your camera? Is it spliced into your main power that powers everything or is it seperate? ALso what battery do you use and how long a flight do you have with this set up. Looking at same motor on same plane with same camera setup. Thanks 5*
My camera is powered by a seperate 11.1v 3cell lipo battery mounted under the main wing in the fuselage. It is a 800mah size battery. The motor is powered by a 11.1v 3cell 2200mah lipo which gives me about 15-20mins of flight. This could be incredibly increased if you didn't fly it hard. There are larger batteries available that could give you over an hour of flight time but its over $150 per batter.
$150!? No way, check on ebay EC POWER and some oder "brands" $20-$30 for 5000mah 3cell 15S, 10S- burst. That will work on 50-60A cool , I suppose you don't need more than 25A for this motor..
Humm.. 10000mah 3cell will be around almost 1 pound, you will have to move some staff in order to keep the CG. Also you may have to reconsider the motor.. something more thrusty but slower ? Like 1000-1400Rpm/v and larger propeller?
yep... that is what I was thinking too! I have a bunch of 12g battery cable, I could make a wiring harness and run two batteries. Thats what I am doing in the f117 too. 2 batteries, 2 esc, 2 motors. I would like to make a 2 motor easystar someday.
Ya know my buddy said the same thing, and I have not had any problems yet... Now its cold in mn right now so things may change come summer! We'll see...

if i use a 2.4ghz radio in my easy star what fpv should i use. is it safee to use the 2.4 fpv w/ 2.4 radio onboard?
thx michael
magicmike1122 2 years ago
no, if you use 2.4ghz for your plane transmitter you must either use 900mhz or 1.3ghz. I personally like and use 900mhz!
x7cj87 2 years ago
hey what is the camera?

and would you say 2.4 ghz has longer overall range when measured in a straight line. and was that 1 mile range with the plane in the air?

Cool vid... Answered some of my questions as I've never flown FPV. FPV will difinitely be included in my next few projects. Thx.

Sweet setup man, and love the videos. I have a similar 900mhz video setup...ever get horizontal lines on the video when you run the motor?
flyit808 2 years ago
no, can't say that I have had that interference yet. How are you powering everything? Motor, video tx, receiver, etc?

Try it out, I think I am gonna switch it up again since I crashed it today. Its ok, I'll make a video of the new setup.

I was looking at the Maxamps batteries, they have a 10,000mah battery, but its spendy coming in at $299. This motor doesn't use more than 20amps.

Another tough, how about conecting tho or more battery, it will be cheeper? However I love heavy airplanes they cut better in the winds.

exactly! Make a twinstar out of an easystar.

cool. you really makes me going bro.
one question tho': as for the motor mount, wouldnt that melt the foam if the motor gets to hot?
