  • I understand the "ghost of pistol " coming back to the court BUT come on pistol was not some over weight slump in a warm up suit wearing a pink hat. Reminds me of a cheap knock off movie that doesn't even make VHS these days.

  • unless of course, he's Pistol Pete

  • in most situations, a white guy in a pink hat wouldnt beat a black guy at basketball

  • this is the most creative video on youtube GREAT JOB!

  • Nice effort. Don't mean to sound harsh, but Maravich sealed his legacy by dying young. Like Elvis, John Lennon, etc. Nobody will ever have to see him as an old man. He's almost mythical now.

  • great job. that was awesome

  • cool

  • That gave me chills. Pete was my hero growing up.Thanks so much.

  • VERY well done!! Enjoyed it very much.....

  • that was cool

  • pistol was 23 not 44, 23 was his favorite number in college, not 44 in the pros

  • well later in his career he switched to 44 because it just kept popping up in his life. Read the book "Maravich" great detailed story

  • he had 23 in LSU, he had 44 in Atlanta and Boston, he switched to 7 because it kept popping up in his life

  • oh yeah haha my bad.

  • love this vid, even tho the basketball playing is amature at best, the message and the story are great and i really enjoyed this, nice post!

  • Nice tribute to a great basketball player. He was truly amazing, and his legacy will live on. There will never be anyone close to his scoring in college. RIP Pistol, 44

  • Josh:

Your RESPONSE is truly gold! FV

  • Which guy are you in the movie, if you don 't mind me asking?

  • Pistol signed his autograph..Pistol 44..

  • HUH? Back in the day folk didn't realize the Pistol raked up the assist..Thats not the Pistol..he never looked to the floor..

  • Thanks.

  • Very good job, captured the essense and the spirit that was Pistol Pete! Glad to see that he has inspired you to make a wonderful video and tribute as well. Court of Dreams!

  • Nicely done, nice touch of class. Was this filmed in the early 1990's or late 1980's??????

    Nice tribute to the Pistol

  • The Ghost of Pistol Pete has visted you and me. The greatest college player of All Time - Pete Maravich.

  • Love the Video!!! I wish I could've played against the Pistol 2! Nice vid Frankjayvee!!!

  • I only wish I coulda played WITH him too. Frankiejayvee

  • poor guy cant go left to save his life

  • Maravicu Srbendo..To je srpski talenat..XD..If you dont know,he's from Serbia, that's why he was good..

  • pete dad was serbian, so that makes pete serb..it dont mean he aint american. petes dad press maravich was born in usa. he coached in collge and played pro ball, not nba. pistol played in nba and is college alltime scorer. pistol learned his skills as a american, he never was in serbia to learn his skills. just becuase your puerto rican it dont mean that you automatically are gifted in baseball..you have to learn the skill wether you in usa or another country

  • Pistola. The best player of the World!!

  • moves weren't that good but shooting was on...

    R.I.P PETE MARAVICH

  • was the story real?

    btw nice shooting..

  • very cool vid

  • Thanks much for your real nice thoughts...

  • when was that vid made?

  • It's a very intense video, thank you...

  • Thanks...fv

  • Hey Frank, it was Freezing that day!! I think I still have the frostbite on my toes. And by the way, I would have killed the Pistol Pete stand in on the court (lol). Still love the video, Rahiem.

  • Rahiem:

It was truly a pleasure having you star in my short film about The Pistol...You did a GREAT job! Can you believe nearly 50,000 people have seen YOU??!! Now what about the NEXT project? Frank V.

  • Lets get busy Frank!! Whenever you are ready!!

  • this guy is my idol. RIP pistol pete

  • nice i love pistol pete definably my favorite of all time

  • I went to LSU with Pete, one of the greatest to ever play! Nice tribute.

  • nice video

  • Wow! Nice work, vespe. Pete was my idol when I was in high school (68-71) and on till today. Thanks for the tribute.

  • nice video

  • Great tribute.

  • I started watching and thought it was going to be another You Tube waste of time video but that was actually very nicely done. Good job!

  • nice

  • maravich was a better dribbler

  • nice real nice......

  • You made my weekend with your wonderful note...

  • Oh my goodness that was amazing. I had no idea what to expect from reading the title, you did such a great job with this. Five stars all the way.

    RIP Pete Maravich

  • thank you for this wonderful video, i hope pete knows there are still fans of him out there and who only wish he still lived.. Rest In Peace Pete, your legend will never be forgotten.

  • He knows...

  • This is such a great tribute. Brings a grown man to tears.

  • great video

    great player

died playing what he loved rip

  • Ain't THAT the truth!!!!

  • nice video. i find it kinda hlarious how you had to tone down some of that defense. but hey it was for a great vid

  • Pete was hard to defend against. Thanks for your nice note...

  • yeah Pete was playing with Dr. James Dobson who is a great Christian who owns Focus on the Family. He only played basketball 2 times in his last year of life!

  • You made my day...thanks much.

  • good ending, but this movie was just weird

  • Woah, man, nice, nice...this is one of the best vids ever...nice...miss Pete...great...great idea...

  • priceless....great movie! Think about it, 44 points a game over a career at LSU....without the 3 point shot!

  • Frank,

After viewing your version of the late, great

PP(a great homage)reminds me of the days we shuffled together under the Triboro. It doesn't surprise me that your soul is still intact. Michael( S-T-R-E-T-C-H )

  • Wonderful concept. Wonderful video !!!!!!

    Very thoughtful, and respectful !!!

    Thank you !!

  • Thanks Frankjayvee. I saw Pete play at the Superdome when he played for the Jazz. A tragic loss. Thanks for the respect. Great video.

  • I really wanted Pete, but he wasn't available...

  • Frank, you are something very special. I wonder if you have thought about making your own documentries. Listen, keep on doing what you do and doing what you love. Because it is not often that a short film, can really cut deep into someone's heart, exposing their fears, sadness, and their love. Make more films, the world needs more of your gift. Thanks Frank.

  • wow...

  • I make films too and I just loved this film man thanks for making my day

  • Velvet is right man. Youre REALLY good. I almost felt like crying cuz i miss pete so much and you really brought back good memories of watching him play. You did well man. Keep it up.

  • its a good vid... when did u make it?

  • Pistol Pete's Son - Check out my videos

  • This is a great video, all of the different camera angles you used were awesome. They made the movie more interesting, and the ending... it really left me stunned. Great job sir! Rip Pistol Pete Maravich

  • Well done.

  • How much times did you rehearse those shots lol ?

  • How many times do DeNiro, Pacino and Denzel rehearse their scenes?

  • If you can get Pete, I'll gladly reshoot the video...

  • You need to work on your "D"!

  • Nice editing-Press would of be proud-Press Maravich that is!

  • That dude with the red cap has nice D.

  • that guy is really good at shooting

  • To compare Maravich to just other passers isn't enough...he could handle (dribble) better than anyone in general and of course could shoot as good as the best.

  • Great vid man

  • Pistol Pete was much better than the guy that took his place in the vid ,but its nice job.

  • If Pete was available I would have used him...

  • he's sick, goood way to go, died doing what he loved

  • happy birthday pete. you were the greatest

  • wow, they dont have anything in common and on top of that Maravich was a better player. J-will is nothing. If you want to compare Maravich to someone, it'll probably be close to nash. Since some of the passes nash does resembles maravich and same with some of the fadeaways

  • It is a shame Pistol played with almost no talent around him in his career, Truck Robinson if I recall was the best player Pete had on his team if I remember correctly but he also had the worst player inch for inch on his team playing Center in Rich Kelly.

  • Oh Pete had talent around him, it's just that other teams had MORE. Remember is wasn't a water down league back then. On the Hawks he had the excellent "Super" Lou Hudson and he had Bellamy. But look at the Celts from that era. Cowens, Havlicek, White. Excuse me? Then the role players like Silas and Cheney. The Bucks: Alcindor, Robertson, Dandridge, Allen. That's just sick! West, Goodrich, Chamberlain, Baylor. And when Baylor retires, McMillian! The NBA is NOT what it used to be!

  • If Walt Bellamy was in his prime when Pistol played with him in Atlanta he would've also been a good talent around him. He was not as talented as Wilt or Russell but he is still regarded as one of the best centers of all-time.

  • Pistol Pete is the most amazing player to ever play the game. He had the skill, flair and the work ethic that it takes to be a ball player. Props to the vid, who plays Pistol in this vid? Btw my dad sported the Maravich hair cut in college and almost played like him too.

  • nice work on this video, I really enjoyed it.

  • I spent all my childhood watching Pete and trying to emulate his moves, his ability. I HAD to do something to keep his memory alive...Thanks very much.

  • thats really pete maravich?

  • this is true ?

    wow

  • i know, but the guy in the video is the one in question. Pistol Pete woulda been the best point guard in the league if he played today.

  • If Pete could see this vid...

  • nice vid

  • He didnt die durin the game he died after i thought

  • technically both, it was "halftime" or waterbreak

  • Only Rod Serling of "Twilight Zone" fame could have brought Pistol Pete back to life better than this video. GREAT VIDEO!!!!

  • how old is diz

  • i liked it. how do you not understand that? Pistol pete was a legend thats for sure.

  • is this video making fun of Maravich or not? I'm confused...

  • nice vid

    props

  • sweet...

  • is that really pistol pete

  • no its not really pistol pete.

  • Pistol Pete was definitely alot smoother than that guy

  • dude, he's playing in the big golden court in the sky, along with Wilt Chamberlain

  • Thanks for checking out my flik...frankjayvee

  • in my estimation, yes

  • someone wanna explain that? lol

  • I can...

  • I like it a lot...

  • i don't get the video until the end

  • sweet video man. RIP MARAVICH

  • I luv it! They only come along ever so often and maybe they do come back on some obscure court or field in some obscure town to do what they love 'one last time'.

  • Wilt Chamberlain-Shaquille Oneal Pete Maravich-Jason Williams

  • did you just compare pistol pete maravich to jason williams? my god.. don't know what to say to that...

  • i didnt compare them they just have a similar playstyle. pistol pete throughout his career was like a young jason williams with his no look passes

  • Yo..the world needs to remember the great ones!
