  • guitar???

  • How would you guys compare a TT100H to a VH100R? I play mostly somewhat classic sounding progressive rock/ metal...And how about the channels? How does the twin channel system work on the VH amps?

  • Ridiculously clean playing! Ahhhhh!

  • wtf dude? you are really good!!!

  • Do you perchance listen to a lot of Paul Gilbert? =P

  • Does the GH50L sounds a little thin to all of you, or is it just me?

  • i don't hear any difference

but the tth 100 looks better xD

  • What is the difference between GH50L and GH100L? just more power/Watt? :P Planning to buy one of them...

  • Very good playing!

They both sound very good in my opinion

  • they ae both sick. maybe the 50 watt is a little brighter

  • love the GH50L I've got one of my own...even resisted a heavy fall in last chilean earthquake

  • Do the GH50 have dual channels?

  • I'm jeadlous :-) I had one and sold it to buy a Hiwatt... now I'm selling the hiwatt to buy another Laney GH50L... beautiful little amp and everything from nice to damn evil... Cheers and thanks for the listen!

  • I'M going to demo a TT50 112 combo tomorrow

  • tt100h sounds kickass, so does your soloing. I got the vh100r, and I've never played an amp with such a great, perky sound. Kinda noisy though

  • Awesome riffs

  • Laney amps are shockingly quiet - even at high levels... Awesome sound, proud Lionheart owner.

  • i want a gh50l to play heavy metal, it delivers on it's own with the drive knob kicked in or do i still need an overdive peda for solos? thanks

  • @XSweeneyToddX

The chain here is guitar>cable>amp only, no additional pedals. For me GH50L has more than enough gain, but you can always use od pedal just to make the sound a little bit more tight ... depends on your personal taste.

  • @delvk guitar - cable -amp??! is there a noisegate on these amps then?? if not how come dont we hear the dirty channel noise?? is it naturally that clean??

  • @evilryu10

I don't use noise gate and as far as I know these amps don't have any.

  • @evilryu10 Laney amps are built well and don't produce hum. Even with single coils, it's noticeably less than most other amps.

  • @evilryu10 "Volume - 1."

  • @XSweeneyToddX paul gilbert used a Laney GH100L and a GH50L for all of his solo career aside from his latest album SFBADR...and he didnt use any od's of any kind and shreds on those amps like thers no tomorrow

  • @XSweeneyToddX I used a gh50L for 3 years in a metal band, just plugged straight in - it's a fantastic amp; no need for any pedals!

  • is this only the amp distortion or with a pedal?, sounds fantastic

  • GH50 all the way - that thing sounds amazing, especially on the single notes.

  • Great display of the difference.. I agree that GH50 sounds more organic and meaty. Got the VC50 myself, now i know i wont get the TT.. but maybe a GH100 or VH100. Got to love these beasts :) Thanx!

  • Both are great amps but I liked the GH50L better. Good tone & good playing!

  • @jst601

    I agree.

  • awsum ! your a great player

  • both are amezing!!!!

  • the gh50 sounded more dynamic

  • What were you using as a preamp on the mic? And also what type of audio interface to get it digital? I'm looking into buying some mics to record guitar.

  • The audio interface is M-Audio Delta 1010LT and I'm using its mic preamp.

  • you really love Intense Rock from Gilbert!!!!! don't you??

    cheers for the tone man!!!!

  • Who doesn't?

  • you kno what, this video helped me more than most vids in distiguishing the sounds between these two heads, i love the GH has a very rich creamy tone so ima deff gonna buy that!

  • Man wen this vid first started

    i was like lookin away.

then the soloing just made me turn my head to the screen.

to me they both sound great!

  • Nice demo man!

Could you by any chance demo the clean channel?

I have a VC100 (combo of the VH100r) and I need 3 channels so this might be just the thing!

  • I think the TT 100 has far better Depth, and dynamics. The TT soloing just hits you right in the chest with some great harmonic color , whereas the GH soloing was not really noteworthy in this situation(to my ears). I'm sure it is just a matter of more tweeking because I had both, and a VH100R, however when I had mine the GH has some pure Power Tube KICK ASS Tones.

  • GH sounds better for me

  • the gh50l has a little more attitude for riffing in my opinion but the tt100h has way better tone for soloing

  • ....and they sound even better at higher volume when the power stage kicks in ;-)

    Been using GH100L since 1994.

  • sound the same...good sound!

  • would you say any of the amps is "better" in someway than the other? from what i can hear they sound pretty much the same tone, comparing 0:12 and 1:00 you could tell its the same amp if you couln´t see them powered on on the video. i know the tt100h has 3 channels and the gh50l has two channels, but what difference can you feel between the two that would make you buy one instead of the other? (in the store nearby my home they only have the tt50h thats why im asking if its worth the money...)

  • For me both amps are great. TT is more versatile than GH, but GH sounds a little bit more vintage and overall has a bit more gain/drive. You can dial a similar to the GH sound with the TT, but they also respond a bit different to your playing. Overall TT has more modern sound, but you can dial vintage tones too ... it just takes a little time to understand and hear how all those knobs are working and interact with each other. Both are great amps for me, no winner!

  • Fantastic playing, fantastic amps!
