Trebuchets are better weapons the catapult you built has more power to it.

Also Trebuchets are normally much larger compared to catapults there less mobile and normally need to be erected at location, Catapults can be wheeled because of the size.

This is an inaccurate representation, as a real middle ages trebuchet could launch projectiles much farther and was considered a vast improvement over catapults when it came to siege warfare.
