Allow me to lend an observation, if I may, in relation to the popular Tony Hawk's series VS. EA Skate debate:

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater = Built repuation on 'over-the-top' skating physics. Criticised.

Skate = Built reputation on 'realistic' skating physics. Applauded.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater = Bails portrayed as short and brutal.

Skate = Bails portrayed as being ragdoll flinging contests, similar to popular PSN title 'PAIN'.

I suppose this suggests neither game is superior.
