Ah yes; Duckman unwittingly pulled a Captain Kirk-esque (also middle-named 'Tiberius') "Nomad" maneuver on the Super-computer, causing it to enter onto an endless logic-loop of causality contradictiction, leading to an overload of its programming circuitry, and subsequent shorting out of its entire processing system. In other words, he fell ass-first into defeating this otherwise indestructable global menace. Nice; Now where can I find some of that non-fat Butterscotch body lotion?
To put it plain and simple: To human is to error and it is human to crave error! and if there's error, humans and even cpu alike have to correct error! Humans cannot live in a "Perfect World" cause we would only get BORED! Humans need something or someone to alter/change. It gives us PURPOSE!
I realize it's the writer's intention and they're only there to victimize and irritate him with early 90's, PC, leftist bullshit, but I fucking despise Duckman's family. It's pretty telling that they can even compete with Duckman in the being a huge asshole department.
duckman, is actually really smart with alot of subliminal messages throughout the episodes, you just have to be fast to catch them, or usually u just get a glimpse of them and then have to go back and pause to see it, but its good stuff
This is my favorite episode, "They can put a man on the moon but not a deoderant that works past lunch." Jason Alexander is great, I just wish it was still on. Thanks for posting this.
I love this show bc in the end u learn something from it in this one a perfect world would be just as worst as inperfect one because this world has its own flose problems there will always be people out there to try to make it better and science and technolgy isn't all perfect there has to be a even blance between the two
I was thinking that when I started watching that again. When I was around 13 I just loved the show because it was low-brow, but now that I go back and watch it, I can see actual messages.
"What?!? You're barely multi-celled!" CLASSIC!! Makes me feel like a better, more enlightened person seeing a show like this,...the only thing that could've made the series better would be a surprise cameo appearance from the Rugrats...only to be completely humiliated by Duckman. But maybe that's happened already hehe.
This show = INSTANT CLASSIC since the first episode. There really aren't anymore animated shows with this much creativity and intellgence anymore. WTF happened!? Comparing this show to most of the animated shows nowadays, is like comaparing The Fresh Prince of Bel-air(Classic) to any of the "Black" shows on BET. You just don't have quality programs anymore.
All true, very true, though occasionally FG and (more often) SP have good-to-great eps, but I'm finding myself watching Duckman much more than either of those two. Simpsons more or less dead to me though I liked the movie. The Fresh Prince vs. BET thing was great too; BET really kinda pisses me off w/ most of those shows since they feel like typical typcasting things. W/ Fresh Prince, people of ALL races could enjoy it and it didn't seem so blatantly restrictive or smug. Still love it.

...or the New World Order stuff or the fact that Europe's had plans for that for years already and are eager to get America to cinch the deal, especially now w/ Obama being President. I love me some computers no doubt, but in the end a few very rotten apples are gonna make them the bane of our very existance, and they're probably in the process of doing that full-force as I type this.
it also raises an interesting argument regarding the practicality of human rationale versus 'computer logic'. although the human model doesn't always reason in a linear fashion, that doesn't necessarily make it less perfect or inferior than that of a machine. the imperfection of the human mind allows it to process a wide variety of variables that the 'practical', yet linear, computer model cannot.
'practicality', of course, becomes irrelevant when human emotion is left out of the equation.
How funny you pussy-less geek. You must think your the only one who knows how to create and send viruses. If You even, remotely, try and send me a virus I promise you....I will end you.
Nah not really,...just a very overblown case of (pseudo) domestic violence, though the music (probably a Zappa tune) certainly gives it a strange air...on second thought, thinking a bit on it,...yes. It is SORTA creepy hehe.
Duckman's totally right I guess. Perhaps that's whats wrong with computers: they're so finite they can't comprehend the infinite contradictions that make a human so endearing.
The third, fourth, fifth, and eighth objection to machine intelligence. I think it's funny that people think computers can't make mistakes. Obviously not windows users, like me. But I'll never use Vista!
I'm really surprised at just how intelligent this episode is. Underneath its veil of dark adult humour lies a deep philosophical argument about the impact technology has on our way of life. Is true technological 'perfection' ever really possible, let alone desired? How is this 'perfection' any different outside the realm of technology?
The observation that imperfections are necessary components of a world constantly striving to achieve something 'better' is astoundingly true.
Its one of my absolute favourites from the series, and one of the few message shows I'm satisfied with in any series because it doesn't have a redundant moral.
its nice to see smart people here. not like jemini. people who can appreciate the philosophical aspects of the series.i knew the writer for this show. he taught English at my school.

It's good that you bring that up, b/c recently I've been having some thoughts on what "perfection" really is. If you think about it, perhaps not even God is perfect b/c there wouldn't be evolution as it is now, but for some reason it's there. People who keep trying to get a perfect technological society are seemingly the same ones in defiance w/ God w/o even knowing it, which could answer for the "End of Days" stuff; humans are trying to do what God didn't (maybe couldn't) do, and he's pissd
another great episode^^ hehe I totally seen the lighting on the sign hiralious~ I loved the ending showing how great imperfect society can be~ duckman rocks :)
