  • Hey, does the neck come pre sprayed? I don't mean the headstock...the back of the neck plz respond as I'm wanting to buy this kit

  • @maksqwe1 The back of the neck comes sanded and sealed like the body. It's ready to paint, stain, or finish however you decide.

  • @randomtwit LOL not unless he bought high end everything.

  • You can get these but with the same wood as Gibson uses. .. mahogany body and a maple top from rmolsonguitars . com They also have the LP semi hollow and the 335 in a choice of spalted, quilted or flamed maple. They have ebony fretboard or rosewood

  • @roann999 If I had known, I would have ordered that one. Looks so much better...Oh well.

  • what did you mean by " it is not a Les Paul not even by construction"? was that because the top was laminated? and the "real" one is carved? thanks for sharing all this info.

  • @besamemucho5 All I meant was that it is not made by Gibson. It is a Les Paul look-a-like. The body is made of Basswood. I believe Les Paul bodies are made of mahogany.

  • I heard the second time, $170, whew I thought you said $800!

  • Did you say that cost $800??

  • Good to see the kit is coming along, these are awesome little guitars for the price. The LC-10 kit is $164.99 at Instrument Alley if you are interested. There is a little bit of shipping but the price is phenomenal.

  • its a good think we could all hear the weather in the background it warned me to cancel my bbq

    XD

  • very nice job... I am going to be doing a similar project with the LC10 kit as well. your video will be a great help as I work on mine. not sure if I want to do videos as well, but maybe. I will doing a similar finish but will be removing most of the sealer so I can stain it then I will be picking up were you started... but nice work cant wait to see your finished product...

  • ...You still can't afford a real one, my dad's got a 1959 Les Paul TV Model, a Les Paul Recording Model (I think he told me the Recording Model was a 1969 production year, but I don't know very much about that guitar; all I know is that it's got a fucking TON of extra knobs & switches & shit & it's got "Low Impedance Pickups", & most pictures of Les Paul as an old man, he's holding the Gibson Les Paul Recording Model, & he's got a ton of rare fenders...

  • @thedeem0N who gives a shit what your old man has got. its a cheep kit he can do for a project..... love your page its a fuckin hoot.LMAO. you hampton .

  • oh good! thank you for the info. now i can get started. your videos are super helpful. thanks again!

  • Did you sand off the thick coat the guitar came with? I just got my Saga Les Paul and I want to sand it but I don’t know how? How did you do it if you did?

  • @versidus As I understood the instructions, the wood was sealed and ready for finish. This should mean that they used sanding sealer, then sanded with fine-grit paper. Sanding sealer is used to raise and fill in the grain. That way, when you apply your finish, the grain does not raise, which makes it easier to sand/buff, especially when applying poly.

I applied my finish to the kit as it was. I think the "thick coat" you are referring to is the result of the sanding sealer and sanding.

  • @versidus heres a better answer, start off with 100 grit aluminum oxide sand paper, sstart on the back and sand in one spot untill the color of the wood lightens alot, this is BARE wood, continue with the 100 grit untill ALL the wood on the body looks this way (be very carefull on the top, the maple vineer is only 2 mm thick). after this smooth with 150 grit. You only need to do this if you want to apply a die or stain to the wood, not if you want a solid color finish

  • bass wood body!!!!! cheap shit!!! its a piece of bloody pine wood !!

  • @kellytttt

Bass wood is very stable and light and is used extensively in many top end instruments.

  • @ironmaniac28 Mine was about $180 with shipping, the one from rmolsonguitars is $190 plus $24 for shipping.

  • @ironmaniac28 I got mine from Instrument Alley, but for a few dollars more, I should have gotten one from rmolsonguitars - their fretboards look like a true LP.

  • GETTING ONE!

  • would I be able to sand mine down quite a bit to make it very "shapely" and lighter...

  • @roughinitoutdoors1 The body is solid basswood, so I guess you could shape it somewhat...not sure I would mess with the body binding though.

  • I ship my guitar kits fast! They are custom and have some choices for fretboard markers and even ebony fretboards are available.

rmolsonguitars and don't forget the dot com

  • mine didnt come with instructions :/

  • @TheXXpsychokillrXX nevermind they were hiding under a box in the box.

  • can i paint it?

  • @Mick80200 Yes, the instructions suggest using automotive lacquer.

  • Could you please tell me if the frets are extra jumbo? I find fretboards with thick fretwire are easier to play.

  • gettin mine off amazon

  • @TheXXpsychokillrXX me too dude!!!! i got a Les Paul shape thing. Don't be scared if it says the estimated shipping date is like a month or two months.....mine came last night in A WEEK. One week, the Saga LC or watever it called.

  • thanks for making this video dude! I'm taking a shop class this year and I was thinking about getting this, my teach said if I use a guitar kit it would be my only project all year and an automatic A

  • that back looks awesome. good vid

  • Well this isnt about the guitar, which turned out Great!! but the question I have is about Instrument alleys service. I ordered a Uke from them almost 1 month ago. How long did it take to get your guitar. Ive e-mailed them and have got nothing in return

  • @fucia11 I had no issue like that. My order came in about a week.

  • i got a tele from sega, its not that bad really, but i had to fuck with the intonation beyond belief, and your gonna want new tuning heads...and new pickups, but the stock ones arent too terrible...
