So you can ride ATV's in deep snow, huh?

My parents just bought a vacation home in The Tetons of Idaho/Wyoming, and they plan on buying a pair of snowmobiles and perhaps an ATV or 4x4. I wasn't sure if you could actually ride an ATV through deep snow, but this video pretty much proves that it is possible.

Would I be able to keep up with the two sleds if im on an ATV?

We have literally ridin them all in the snow. Big bores and small, Can-Am, Yamaha, Suzuki, Polaris, Artic Cat, Kawasaki and Honda. In the right hands the Honda Rancher will run circles around most quads in the snow. :) Although, tire choice and air pressure will go a long ways to helping most quads.

Good Comment, what i have found as i have owned both manual shift and CVT Shifted bikes is, yes sometime you do have problems with the belts, ergo i snorkeld my Grizz. With my old Honda i found it much harder to traverse snow and some mud holes due to the momentum lost while shifting. but the thing was solid goin in the wet stuff. So as us maritimers say "six of one, half a dozen of the other"

i think honda's are the best for handling anythings thats wet.. because yamaha,polairis, and i'd think arctic car/can -am/ and suzuki are all belt driven as to honda's that are fully drive shaft... thats just my opinion because i have a honda 500 foreman

About a half hour ago, dad and I finished a snow ride on our 2WD atvs. It is really fun! We had to stay in like 2nd gear, though. We were riding in about 5 inches of snow. It was the most fun I've ever had on a four wheeler. That vid is so cool!

4 sometimes 5 in the core group of riders. We have taken larger groups (20 or so) out on some pretty good adventures.  But the real intense backs woods riding we keep to just the small group.

That is a real tough question. There are some many great quads to choose from today. If I had to pick just one... right now it would have to be the Can-Am Renegade with Yamaha's Grizzly 700 a close second.

Any where from just a couple of inches to 10 feet or more. We have tried many combinations of tire (looking for that best snow tread) While some agressive treads do work better than stock in the snow. The best are a nice soft radial tread run at very low psi.
