My personal belief--based solely on news reports, the gunman's Internet postings, and speculation--is that this point is one of the factors why he shot. I believe he felt the YWAM were hypocrites who wanted money, and he felt resentment against New Life Church from his mother's dedication to the beliefs of the church.

It is obvious that the conflict between the church's teachings and those he encountered in society were at odds, and he couldn't handle it.

That analogy would mean that the government couldn't prevent the publication of scientific literature, but it could do so for pornography, defamation and hate literature - even by scientists.

Effective regulation of militias is the only purpose underlying protected gun ownership. That doesn't extend to gun fans, fetishists and hobbyists.

Taking guns away from those types makes no difference to the effectiveness of the militia other than to make its task a little easier.

Remarkable woman. She's being too modest. An ex-Vietnam combat vet saw it and said that it was the bravest thing he'd ever seen. She came straight at him as he was firing at her, shouting "Surrender!" and calmly took him down. What a difference between this incident and the one in West Virginia.
