  • Thank you :-)

  • Hey, i have a question. Well i am thinking of buying these tropheus cichlids but since i don't have allot of money i am scared that if i buy them they will die from some sort of disease and i get screwed since i heard that these fish are VERY SENSITIVE, and i am about a year in this topic i got malawi cichlids (yellow labs, Red zebra, etc..). so my question should i get them or need a bit more time to give with the malawis and in 1year to move to tropheus?

  • @iinongodlberg

    Hi

Starting with juveniles will cost you less money, and you will enjoy the ride of growing them to maturity.

I think you should get them :-)

  • beatiful fish. How big should the tropheus be for breeding?

  • Hi , and thank you.

The age of the Tropheus is more important then it's size.

They start breedind at the age of 7-9 months till to 1 year.

Usually thier size at this age is between 7-8 centimeter.

Of course the males will be larger then the females with the same age.

The relation between the males and the females is also important to a successful breeding.

Multiplicity of males can interrupt the breeding , so you have to decrease the number of males to the minimum your tank can hold.

  • Was Mpulungu the first moorri to be identified? Very nice!

  • Amazing, you have beautiful fish, how much for five fingerlings? ; )
