I was at this show, here is my take. OLC's illegal immigration song is a bit reactionary, but I think they were more trying to get a rise out of the pc police in the scene rather than making a political statement. The fight started when this kid flipped Steve off saying "F%#* You my dad is an immigrant." Gloves went off and Steve goes after him. The thing that pissed me off was they canceled the show before Bloodlet got to play.

by this, EU products became cheaper and cheaper until they were so cheap that on north african markets the higly-industrialized and subsidized agricultural products from the EU were cheaper then the local african products. the effect was that the agricultur and manufacturing industry in north africa died. the UN calls this destructive dumping. suffering from unemployment and poverty many north-africans decided to come to europe, because they hoped and believed to earn money there.
so families scrape about 1000€ together, get their sons on nutshell-like boats which illegally bring them to south spain or italy (if they don't sink during the trip, like many of them do). in south spain, the place to go for illegal immigrants is almería, a greenhouse the size of a major city. their they work for 30€ a day (if they find work and actually get paid) and live in disused greenhouses under cardboard and tarp.
and then the circle closes: european agricultural products become even cheaper, because of cheap labor, north african agricultur struggles even more, more illegal immigrants come, a surplus on labour forces the immigrants to work for even less money, products become cheaper and so on...
does it make sense to hate those illegal immigrants, because they are only struggling to survive? of course not.
does it make more sense to hate the exploitative big farmers in europe? or the governments that subsidize them? not at all. because they are all part of a system where every body struggles to improve or keep ones standard of living. the politicians want to stay in power and become re-elected and therefore have to respect the demands of the agricultural lobby to some extent. the farmers must sell their products and therefore keep the price low.
the consumers must maximize profit and therefore buy cheaper products... it's a system. it's name is capitalism. it's philosophy is neo-liberalism. does it make sense to hate this system of exploitation? absolutely yes.
you see, illegal immigrants are not an involuntary sideeffect of this system. they are an essential part of it. because only illigal immigration can satisfy the system's need for cheap labor since they are not protected by unions and offical wages.
of course this example does not totally apply to the reality at the mexican border, but if you do a little research on free trade between the US and south america, you will find similar cases.
3. why it is racist to hate illegal immigrants. recall the definition of racism above... when you say illegal immigrants "suck your country dry" and "we pay [them] out of our pockets", you are judging them based on their profitableness.
illegal immigrants are less profitable and less useful to the US then US citizens are. you use this judgment to deny those illegal immigrants the right to live in the US and to justify your existence there. furthermore US citizens begin to project their country's problems onto illegal immigrants. they would "steal" jobs, they are criminal, they are lazy and "dirty fucking leaches". however, the real cause of those problems aren't illegal immigrants, but rather the capitalistic economic system.
so the racial discrimination reproduces the system and thereby even facilitates the exploitation of illegal immigrants by increasingly disfranchising them. and the more underpriviliged illegal immigrants become, the more they can be exploited, the cheaper is their labor and the more expensive is getting the US citizen's labor in relation, the more US citizens have to struggle to keep their jobs, the more they hate illegal immigrants... and the circle closes again.

I was there, and this is what I can tell you. Integrity was supposed to play, but they gave up half their time so OLC could play too.They started this song with lyrics about their right wing stance on immigration, & a guy gave them the finger & said, "my dad was an immigrant." Mean Steve jumped down from the stage, and there you have it. The police showed up, and the fest was over for the day.

Unfortunately there are way too many of them coming here and way too many doing exactly what OLC was protesting. He didn't single out Mexicans, Africans, etc. If I remember correctly, there was something that stated that the song was not against legal immigrants. These lyrics are tame. Go listen to Angry Aryans or something like that for a taste of real bigotry and intolerance.

I was at this show, here is my take. OLC's illegal immigration song is a bit reactionary, but I think they were more trying to get a rise out of the pc police in the scene rather than making a political statement. The fight started when this kid flipped Steve off saying "F%#* You my dad is an immigrant." Gloves went off and Steve goes after him. The thing that pissed me off was they canceled the show before Bloodlet got to play.

I was there, and this is what I can tell you. Integrity was supposed to play, but they gave up half their time so OLC could play too.They started this song with lyrics about their right wing stance on immigration, & a guy gave them the finger & said, "my dad was an immigrant." Mean Steve jumped down from the stage, and there you have it. The police showed up, and the fest was over for the day.
