I miss the 90s. My ma LOVED this show. And my lil brother swore he was Andre cuz they shared the same name lol. I was a bit too young to fully appreciate this show but I liked it. This was too real. Sad it ended. We need more of these shows.
an actual real african american show that you can relate too, now a days what's supposed to be black shows are Love That Girl and Reed Between the Line. Whatta joke.
Ma man side get myself a beeper. Lol i remeber when that use to be it, i use to love my beeper. This use to be my favorite show. I miss it so much, the thing i use to love about it the most. It was never a happy ending like in real life...the world just keeps on turning.
Fox was the shit back then..all most the hole thursday-friday line up was black shows...Living Color, Martin, living Single, Roc, New York Undercover, South Central...T.V just ain't the same
I think this show may have done better if it was put in a better time slot on Fox back in the day.. Also I think labeling this show a sitcom was bad mistake in the 1st place. They should have made it 1 hour and made it more of a drama series opera sort of thing. I think it probably would have done better.
it got cancelled in the uk after gun part 1, ive spent 10yrs wondering what happened!! cant believe the bloke who played Shad-Roc died in a car accident. cheers for the upload
I agree unfortunately south central didn't make past it's first season it only lasted 10 episodes it would be nice if they release the show on DVD and blu-ray
Dre' : All you gotta do is find his triflin ass LMAO
This show is so damn real!! I think "South Central" is seriously better than shows like "The Game" cause it actually displays real life situations in a realistic manner.
haha! i remember those cordless house phones with the antenna wire u pull up.lol. i used to talk to the honeys all the time on that phone at home in the ninetys. my first beeper/pager i got in 1998.haha.

@peterscoop i like them cus thats were we all come from but i dont want the networks to feel thats what blk people are only about thats why you dont see alot of them today
Umm you guys need to read her profile, it's not fair for you guys to keep requesting video's.. just work with the ones you have,, it take brown sugar over an hour per video when she uploads.. she dosn't have time to do that all the time.
Hey Brownsugar, do you have that episode where Tasha has that big hat on her head and Dre said, 'Aw, hell naw you ain't goin' out with me lookin' like that! Mom, she look like Elmer Fudd!' LOL!
I never said anything negative about the sister or the brother. I remember this show quite well and I remember the "concept" of the show. My whole argument was that back then, and some even now, don't view this show as a "lesson learner." The average teen and young adult will find it more humorous than a "what not to do" type of show. Sorry if I'm confusing everyone.
This show was great!!! I never missed an episode & hated when it got pulled. This was during the time when FOX had a bunch of black shows on the air, and we all know how they do..."oops, it's one too many, someone's gotta go" lol. The show tried to attack so many issues because they knew they didn't have much time. I don't even think the deal for that show was to surpass about 7-8 episodes, that's the business. It left a mark, opened dialog, and made people think. I wish more t.v. was like this.
@faceman1914 I agree they did not give South Central a chance, I remember that they booted it off the air right alone with Roc sitcome. Two black sitcome cancel at the same time that was mess up
I never seen this before this is a really good show i sat up till 3am watchin all the episodes here DO ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN SEE MORE OF THIS SHOW I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!
I think this was produced by the same people that did Moesha, plus on the one of the episodes Moesha's Hakim and Neecie played friends of the son and daughter( Neecie plays a 14 yr old that likes D'Andre and ends up trying to sleep with a 17 yr old Hakim)
This does seem to be the conceptual forerunner of Moesha. It doesn't quite make the mark though. It tries to attack too many social issues at once. Plus their house is huge for living in the ghetto.
why did they cancel this show...this was a really good show....it really trips me out when they said that this show was too real...when they had 7th heaven...lame...i hate to pull the race card...but...it is what it is....lame...the show had soooooo much potenual
I was only about 6 when this came out.I've never heard of it though.I'm surprised it was canceled after watching because it's a good sitcom. For some reason it reminds me of Moesha.Good thing TVone shows old sitcoms.
Maia Cambell played a quick love interest for Laurenz tate, she left when she realized that he was starting on a path toward gangbanging....by the way, does anyone see a connection between this show and Moesha? The only difference i see is the enviornment they stay in...
Well read a few posts down and you will see where someone thought Andre calling women bitches was funny. So the answer is no. These types of shows don't help our community. They only inspire black men to be disresectful and unemployed. That's why it was yanked from the air. I understand the "message," in this show, but unfortunately, others don't.
unfortunately you don't know how to spell disrespectful instead you spelled disresectful and this show wasn't made to influence crime and gangs, it was ment to show the media how it is growing up in an environment were drugs, sex, and violence are the only things given to you and we are showin that blacks are not ignorant, but these are tha only things we grow up with and sometimes we don't have a choice but some people make the right decision's and do whats right while others have no otha option
Misspelling a word is called a TYPO. Nothing more. Hell, I should know how to write seeing that I'm a published author. As for you putting on a cape coming to the rescue, & assuming I'm white;let me tell you, I'm black. SURPRISE! I grew up on the South Side of Chicago. You & I know that repeatedly showing drama in "da hood," is more influential. I sat in movie theaters with tons of blacks who clapped & cheered at drive-by's. Now you're "pretending" that this behavhior is unheard of? HA!
dude, i neva said u wasn't black and how was i suposed to know u were sum big time author? the ones in the movie theater that were clapping r tha prime example's of wat i was talking about they r lost and they have no choice but to support this ignorance but think about white people when they watch a movie like rambo that's violent and things like the columbine massacre, virginia tech, movie's like rambo influenced these tragic events and we don't get our habits from movies, we live them
And my point is...we don't HAVE to live this kind of life! I understand the msg the show was trying to convey. Sadly, idleminded people who love gangs, drugs, etc. won't view this show as a "what not to do" lesson. It'll only make them wonder how they too can be like dude on the corner. Ask yourself...when the show is over, what's more memorable to an idleminded person? The violence and the disrespecting women? Or a "life's lesson?" I say the former.
whatever dude all i know is u can't hide wat goes on in the hood and bringing sumthin like this to the media is a great movment to show that we r still slaves mentally but not physically and i understand wat u r talking about when you say some r lost when they idolize criminals and breaking the law but we still have to send the good people's message of what we live through in the hood somehow even if it means a sitcom about a struggling family who's tryin to make it like many blacks in real life
I agree that we need to send a positive message, but the only positive person on the show was the mom, and if the average teen is a thug, gang-banger, drug dealer, etc., they're not going to listen to the mom character! Teens living the thuglife won't be inspired by this woman.
In the nutshell, "comedy" was NOT the proper venue. That's why it flopped. It should have been a drama series, like "The Shield" where we see life in the hood dealing with gangs and crooked cops.
u r a uncle tom if you don't think this show is REAL!!! if u are black and happy of the fact that the show got cancelled than you are a UNCLE TOM!!! u must watch friends or something
To learn you, South Central isn't a city. It's a part of Los Angeles county which contains every little poor districts/little cities of the Los Angeles.
its a shame this was cancelled dident moesha come on instead and they use the same house and took two of the chractors from this show into moesha hakim and niecy
SOUTH CENTRAL was one on the most cutting edge shows of our time. This was too real for Fox back then. I believe the network casted actors and also minpulated scripts out of the reality of South Central LA so that Inner City African American culture could be exploited on national platform. They figured if they could spread this message on the biggest brainwashing medium ever known as televison, that we would all follw and act the same way where we we're living. Keep ya third eye wide! Eeeee!
I loved the show too but I wasnt disappointed when the show got cancelled. After a few episodes, it became much too sterotypical. It kinda pissed me off, to see how the city of South Central depicted strictly on the negative... all the time.
This used to be my SHIT!!! If you have anymore of these episodes, like the one where Jennifer Lopez plays the cashier @ the grocery store, please upload them. Brings back memories I swear!!

This show was canceled because it opens your mind! it's as simple as that.
Don't any of you know who runs the world?
They don't want you to think too much, that's why they keep you busy with all the bullshit on tv these days of the 2000's.
All "Good" things in media and hollywood and mainstream are eventually killed off because they keep you on your track to staying human.
They want you to become animals without morals so that they can kill you all off without any remorse.

Aww I feel so bad for the little sister. Doesn't seem like she gets much attention from her mom. I could have sworn Maia Campbell was on this show?

She was only in one episode.. It's on here...

To learn you, South Central isn't a city. It's a part of Los Angeles county which contains every little poor districts/little cities of the Los Angeles.

Eeeee!

They should have given the show a chance to build an audience. It could have really been big but they canceled it after what... 5 episodes?

I used to like this show. I was so disappointed when it got cancelled.
